QB Board Daily Digest - problems

QuiltnNan,

I'm not sure what the cause of my problem is -- I suppose it could be my computer, but my son has been through this thing about three times. The Daily Digest is received; however, I open one thread to read, finish and go to another thread, but there's nothing there -- not any portion of the Daily Digest. As I said, my son has gone through the e-mail browser several times and has found nothing amiss there. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Help, please! Thank you.

Jeanette

there are always problems with this site. do not assume it is your computer. Sometimes sites will be blank, sites jump and the most annoying is the keyboard difficulties. For years folks have been asking about them and nothing changes. Just learn to work around them. There is such great info and sharing on this site that we all just deal with the challenges.

this what PatriceJ posts when there are questions about the digest... we don't have anything to do with it"
Please send your inquiry to [email protected]

I am not at all involved in the emailing of the digests and newsletters, so there is nothing I can do to help.

The first and most important thing to remember is that the emails are not the board.
They are only a link to a smattering of the most viewed threads.
Those are rarely the newest threads and barely scratch the surface of all that's available here.

If you know you want to come to the board often, the emails are a waste of time.
They slow you down. Why wait for an email?
Why let a remote computer decide what you should read?

To start at the Home Page, go to http://www.quiltingboard.com.

If you still prefer starting with the sample list of links, go to http://www.quiltingboard.com/resources/daily-digest-4/.

Want to see the newest threads? Go to http://www.quiltingboard.com/sitemap/.
That’s the Archive, which lists threads in reverse order - newest first.

Want to see the threads with the newest comments added?
Go to http://www.quiltingboard.com and then click on What’s New.

You can add any or all of those links to your browser favorites/bookmarks, put a shortcut on your desktop, or (if you are a total QB junkie like me) you can make it your home page.

Try using the direct route.
You might find you like it better. :-)

Check your junk/spam folder.
If you use gmail, look through all of the tabs there are now in the “upgraded” inbox.

Even though you have asked to receive the emails, many services treat them like junk anyway.
They disable the links or send them straight to spam/junk.
They sometimes don’t make it through to user inboxes – not even to the junk folders.

Also, if you have not already added the QB to your email’s safe senders list, please do:

Please take the following steps to add a contact to your safe senders list:
1. Open your email account (example: AOL, Gmail, Yahoo! or Outlook).
2. Locate your “address book” or “contacts”.
3. Add [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] to your address book or list of contacts.
4. Save your changes.

If your email program provides for it, also add [email protected], @lifestyle.ibemail.com and @quiltingboard.com to your list of safe senders (or the equivalent)"

Jeannette, try just going to Archive down at the very bottom. You will see so much more than what is included in the Daily Digest. They only put a maximum of 10 entries per section, per day, in the Digest. In fact, I have my default web browser set up to the Archive page. Hope this helps.

I am not clear on what is and is not happening when you try to use the digest. I don't know what you mean when you say "however, I open one thread to read, finish and go to another thread, but there's nothing there -- not any portion of the Daily Digest."

can you describe your process and the steps you take in more detail, please?
please tell us what you click on, where it is, where that takes you, etc.
