Sorry: dumb question, not my last

I posted a photo last week. It was up for a while, then vanished (not a big deal, of course). I assume it was too large a file, or something. I can't find mention anywhere of the maximum permissible file size for an image. Do you know what it is?

Thanks

if it was up, it prolly wasn't a size issue. if they are too big they usually don't make it. but 1000 pixels on the long end is about max.

You may have run into editing/censoring from moderators. They want everyone to be happy.

Odd. It was a photo of a dining room table piled with tools and a couple of machines. It Was around 940kb: hopefully that was the issue. I can't imagine there are too many here averse to screwdrivers and sewing machines!

Thinking about it, this happens now and then, and the reason isn't very obvious. Posts and entire threads have disappeared, but I know the moderators are strict on language and keeping good form.

Have you checked your (quick links- subscribed threads?) there’s the chance it just fell back a few pages. It will still be in your threads.

the post that had a photo now says invalid attachment. i don't know what the original photo was.

The limit is listed on the attachment manager window that pops up when you go to upload a picture. I think it’s 1.9mb

your photo was well under the limit.

i looked at the thread.
you posted a .pdf file which, when opened, had a photo of machines on a table.
farther down in the thread i see the photo correctly posted.
so i don't understand the problem.
