The only way I can post pictures is with my iPad because I am computer challenged. With the Ipad you take the picture first, go to open new thread in pictures, type in the title and your text, click on the little paper clip (manage attachments) and follow the prompts. The picture does not appear until you click submit. On the regular computer you use the little tree icon that is third from the right in the reply icon box. I cannot do that one because you then have to do stuff on the computer to put it in and I can't. Don't know if any of this will help you, hopefully you have an Ipad?

It took me awhile to figure this out as well. I'll tell you what I do, and hopefully it will help.

First, you start a new post by clicking on + Post New Thread.

You'll get to a screen that lets you type in your message. Keep looking down, into the next section called Additional Options, and you'll see Manage Attachments in a blue box. Click on that.

A new screen pops up. First is upload files from your computer. Click on Choose File. That should show you your computer, and you have to find where you have the photos stored. I find it's easiest to have the photos on your desktop, but you might have them stored in a folder specifically for pictures. Once you find the photo, click on it to choose it. Then, click the blue box that says Upload. It may take a minute, and it may tell you your file isn't the right kind, if it isn't. There's a list of file types you can use at the bottom of that screen. If you have uploaded it sucessfully, it will show under Current Attachments. When you see it there, close the window.

Back on the other screen, where you can type your message, under Manage Attachments you should see your photo listed. Once you've typed your message, you can click Submit New Thread. And you are done!

If you want to upload more than one picture, after you upload the first one, while you are still in that same window, click on Choose File again and upload another one. All photos uploaded will show up in that post.

If this doesn't work, let me know, and we'll figure it out. We want to see your pictures!

I suspect the "file size" of your pictures may be too large. Here's a great post from Patrice explaining how to resize them. http://www.quiltingboard.com/qb-help...g-t166655.html

that's very interesting to me.

i switch to FireFox ages ago because Explorer was such a pain [to me] to use.

now, since FireFox updated itself [two updates ago, i think] i have had to switch to Chrome whenever i want to easily upload photos. they do upload in FireFox. i just can't see them until i have saved/submitted the post - as Tartan has found is the case when she uploads from her iPad.

i have written to tech support.
there must be a setting we need to fix somewhere on our computers that got changed during an update.
i just don't have a clue what that setting might be.

P.S. if you get an error message from the board software that says the upload [from a computer] failed, that nearly always means the photo file is too big.

I feel your pain grammie. I, too, have been unsuccessful many times and have decided to wave the white flag. My children have told me it has something to do with our mac computer. Good luck to you.

I can load scans (that are in e-mail mode/size easily) - I haven't tried photos because I am challenged in that area.

With the 'old' QB platform/format/whatever it was called - if one tried to preview attachments before posting, the attachments disappeared.

Is this still so?

I'm in the same boat. Have so many things that I'd like to share but don't have a clue as to how to do it. Will keep trying.
