Am I automatically subscribed to a topic if I was the only who started it? I'm finding I'm getting duplicate emails alerting me to responses. I always subscribe to everything I post to, including my own.

Am I duplicating my work?

when ever you comment on a topic you are automatically subscribed (following) that topic- along with any you start- it is not necessary to *manually* subscribe also- it is done for you . you would only need to do it yourself if there was a topic you wanted to follow but had nothing to add (no comment) then you would subscribe to it so you could still follow it.
