I'm going to Atlanta next weekend and plan to go buy some fabric for http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...p-t226990.html. You know me though, I'll probably fall head first off the wagon and end up with some other stuff too.

Anyone have suggestions for a great shop to visit in Atlanta?

Have fun in Atlanta. I was a good girl! We went to an event yesterday and I did not stop at any quilt stores along the way.

Guess who - guess where - guess what:
Me - JoAnn - Fabric for the border and backing for the Bald Eagle DP9. I checked the stash and there were no color matches. So I had to bite the bullet.

Martina: Somehow you don't sound quite as sad as I would have expected.

Hm, I must add more pathos in my writing next time. (See, I'm already thinking ahead.)

Unfortunately, the next shopping trip has already been announced. My office neighbor wants me to make a wall hanging for her. She is into modern - minimalistic design with solids. In my entire stash there are approximately 10 FQs in solids and they are not the right colors. So I must shop for a few solids.

Martina: The "unfortunately" was a good touch. Maybe an "alas" at the beginning of the sentence?

My LQS had their open house last night where they go over the next 6 month schedule. I signed up for "Home is where the Haunt is" - a 4-week Block kit and a cup-cozy class (but that only takes 3 FQs and I have those). At least I have the chance of getting the kit project done. DH wants a Halloween wallhanging for his office. That's my motivation.

Back from the Grand Rapids quilt show. Lots and lots of wonderful quilts, including some from board members. There also were lots and lots of vendors, with lots and lots of fabric! I got a 1 yard cut of an unusual leaf print. Many colors, should be able to match colors from my stash... Also caved and bought a fat quarter bundle (well, maybe two). Also got a couple rulers. I think I'm getting a ruler stash! Now off to the cottage, where my non fishing gr niece and I will use up some of my stash making jewelry bags for gifts.

I spent the weekend in Atlanta, and I'd planned to buy fabric for my boyfriend's nephew & SIL's matching Christmas aprons, the fall runner swap, and 1 more thing I knew I should have written down. I went to Intown Quilters in Decatur, GA & have fallen in love with that shop. They carry probably 4-5x's what my nearest non-chain shop carries in fabrics. I resisted a couple things, got the fabric for the aprons, then saw some Christmas fabric that looks like gingerbread cupcake houses. My best friend's birthday is next Sunday, so I'm going to make her some new potholders and a couple other little things, and I'm not counting it as off the wagon so long as I don't have too much of the yard and a half left of it. Well, then I was standing at the cutting table and this jelly roll was screaming for me to rescue it from the corner. Yep bought it too. That was my only splurge though. The selection there is great, except for "fall".

Oh I was such a bad girl last night. Our guild had their annual yard sale at the meeting. One of the members has a store and she had the most delicious Asian prints. I could not resist. Hanging my head in shame (well, hanging my head to hide my smile anyway).
