These were two UFOs I finished last year but didn't get posted. The first was a BOM sampler from a kit purchased at an estate sale. Once I got home and sorted out the huge amount of fabric included in the kit (over 34 yds- included backing) I realized that I didn't have 5 of the monthly blocks. This was a Thimbleberries block sampler so I scoured my TB pattern books and found the same blocks (same size blocks too) and so over 2014 and 2015, I finally finished the top in April. I learned so much from this quilt. Added black sashing between blocks instead of sewing the blocks side by side. Not only did it make the blocks pop but it was necessary due to some little errors in block sizes. I also added the piano key borders because I had so much fabric left. Label done by sewnsewer2 here on the QB.

The second was a bug jar quilt that I finished binding a few days before Christmas. The LAQ used a quilting design with the ladybug- so cute! Label also done by sewnsewer2 but I didn't get pic with details blocked. Will snap pic of it next time I see it.as it had the cutest bug on the label.

Lovely finishes. Thanks so much for posting them all. The discussion is interesting too. How people determine their UFOs or WIPs. Honestly I'm not sure how I determine my own. Some are a little harder to define than others.

Great quilts. I like the bright colors in both and the ladybugs.

This morning I started going through my projects.

First three - all Affairs of the Heart blocks. I started with the group last year, but gave up pretty early on.

1. Black, needle turn applique. I don't care for hand sewing. 8 blocks are done and ready for embroidery, but I also don't like the hand embroidery. I've got 3 more cut and ready to sew. I think I'll pick one more block so I'll have 12, then put them together as a wall hanging. I like trying new things, but sometimes I discover it's not something I enjoy. I use to do a lot of hand needlework, but now I'd rather be at the sewing machine

2. Beige/green/gold set. This was my "practice set" and I've got all 36 blocks done. I need to put them together and get them quilted.

3. Gold set, these are also machine embroidery. I've got all 36 appliqued and ready for stitching. I'm also doing a set of shadow trapontu using the AFH designs and the gold background. Not sure if I will use them together or not.

4. OBW - this was suppose to be for my bed, but it didn't turn out like I envisioned, so it get put aside. It's all in strips and ready to sew together, so the hard part is done.

5. Cathedral Window cover for my hope chest. This is about 3/4 of the way complete, and is 100% machine sewn. Not sure why this one got abandoned - it's been a UFO for over a year now.

6. Intertwining cats. I made one of these for a BIL who has Parkinsons, as he gets cold all the time. I cut out two sets, and this is the second set. I've also gathered more fur prints, so I may swap some out.

7. 6" Cat blocks, have about 35 of them. I had 80 of them, but used the others to make a quilt for a friend. I used the attic window design and will probably do the same with these. They are so fun to make!

8. 6" Rose Blocks, paper pieced. I have 24 completed and fabric scraps for about 10 more. these are also very fun to make. No idea what they will eventually become.

9 -11 are UFO's I inherited from my Mom. She stopped quilting back in the 80's.

9. yellow baby quilt for my niece Sarah (who is the mother of three boys now). Everything is there, just need to finish putting it together. I'll use my Mom's template for quilting, though I will do it on the machine.

10. Martha Washington's Flower Garden, for my sister Therese. Mom had 20 flowers done, and planned on 32. She had some fabric cut, along with yardage for the blue background. She also had a dark green, which I changed to three colors of green as it seemed too stark of a contrast. I recently learned how to sew in strips, and now this is not so scary of a project to complete. I take it out and work on it periodically, so more of a very slow WIP at this time.

11. This one is almost a floppy. It's already a decent size, with enough blocks for a few more rows. I found a list in a notebook and my Mom had listed Flower Basket as the pattern she picked out to make for her mother. I plan on keeping this one for myself.

I have already completed two of Mom's UFO's for other sisters.

12 & 13, two bargellos from the 70's fabric from my sister. These have not sat long, I wanted to get them cut before the fabric went into the general stash.

14. Carol Doak's 50 State Stars. Another group that started on QB last year, but also fell by the wayside. I've stuck with it, but not one a week. I've got 32 complete, 4 peiced and the rest cut and papers copied. Every once in a while I pull a few out to sew. After I get several pieced, then I work on sewing the 8 peices together assembly line style.

15. Bonny Hunter's Perkomian Dream. I've got the 5 block rows sewn, and have started putting them into the blocks. There will be 400 5x5 blocks, and then they get sewing together. Another very slow WIP.

16 is Arcadia Ave BOM that I bought with a Birthday coupon. (So last May) - I am still looking forward to doing this one.

17 is a Connecting Threads Kit, bought 50% off but never started. Kind of on the fence on this one, I liked it much better online than I do now that I have the fabric in front of me.

18. This one is a WIP - we are doing a "be fit" challenge at work, and I am making mug rugs as part of it. So I need to complete 12 a month. I already have 90 of them quilted up. I sewed WOF strips together and put that on the long arm, then cut them into 6" square and am binding them. It goes really fast on my new Juki!

19. 2015 Row by Row. I wanted to collect all of them from SD, but didn't get two of them. I have the other 14, ten were already made into a quilt (and turned in for the Win) and I want to make another smaller one with the remaining 4. I had to wait until the contest ended to get two of these three as I had to have them mailed. Both of these quilts get hung in the Machine Shed.

20. This will be a wall hanging for DH. I've got enough shot bags now, but need to get the rest of them washed and then put it together.

Then I have two "ready to bind" projects. Not sure what do use on the bargello, and I have the strips for the color wheel somewhere - but so far they have not turned up.

And then the floppies

Several smaller pieces, mostly cabinet covers

And a wall hanging and small quilt

Two more quilts, one queen (cream stripe) and one full. I had lots of the different colored fabric left over from the queen quilt, so I used it to make the smaller one.

This one is king size to the floor, and I wasn't going to unfold it to get a picture of the front side. This one is for my nephew that is getting married in June. It is mostly fabric from my sister (his mom).

this one really does not qualify as a UFO - but it is one started in 2015 that I want to finish in 2016 - the recent Bonny Hunter Mystery.

And several misc blocks - most from swaps. I stopped participating in them as I had not done anything with the blocks from the last several.

My "most needed to get done) UFO is a fix - I made four sets of vestments for the chapel where I work, and messed up on the red set. It was suppose to have red/red/gold ribbon and I put pink. At least I found out before I messed up and put the gold on the wrong one too! there are 12, and I've got the pink removed from 10 of them, and about ready to sew on the gold and put them back together. It's not quilting, but they are batiks. I got the other three sets completed over the last year, and now it's time to get back to fixing up this set.

My UFOs include:
2 quilt tops pieced but need borders, then quilting.
2 quilt tops cut out but not pieced.
1 improvisational quilt top, blocks pieced, needs connecting strips and quilting.
1 decorative wall hanging, sandwiched and quilted, but needs to be mounted on stretcher bars.
5 or 6 (maybe more--I need to check) decorative wall hangings that need handwork, sandwiching, quilting and mounting on stretcher bars.
1 quilted book that has finished pages but needs to be bound into a single volume if I can decide what I want to do on the cover.
A number of FMQ doodles that I need to figure out how to present so I can take them to my gallery...

Then there's all the UFOs that are still only ideas in my head LOL

AUQuilter - I love that bug jar quilt. That is one on my list to do some day. That and a bookshelf quilt.

Rob - we'd better not start counting all the ideas we've got in our heads! Besides, those are usually the ones we'd love to work on, instead of the ones we already started. Now that I have my UFO's organized, I think I'll go after the ones that I can finish up pretty quickly.

Juanita - looks like you have some real fun UFOs there - will be looking forward to seeing them finished.
