I have a new physical therapy clinic - 50 miles from home in the same strip mall as JoAnn Fabrics. Not good. There is another location on the other side of town - I may have to switch. All I purchased was enough to make an elephant wallhanging for a Christmas present, but there is a peach batik calling my name. 1 1/4 yards (1/2 for the elephant, 3/4 for background) is not bad for two days of browsing, but still........... Now I need to draw an elephant.

I think I need to join the no buy challenge for 2019. I have SO much fabric and order more with every project that I plan. Not that I actually sew on these thought up projects. It just gets deeper and deeper.

We’ll have a new thread starting for 2019. I’ll probably start it around Dec 28-30, & I’ll give a reminder on this year’s thread for all who want to continue & for the new people wanting encouragement on the fabric moratorium.

You sound just like me! I joined the moratorium last February because I have fabric everywhere... in bins, boxes, totes, closets, shelves, and floor. On Thanksgiving Day, I finally cleared some space on my spare bedroom's floor! The people here will encourage you and keep you straight. If you are like me, you won't see your stash shrinking for several months, but don't give up! The trick is don't buy any more fabric and quilt like a crazy woman!!

Party's over, 52 hungry people. SIL 1 strongly hinted she would like a quilt just like I made for a friend (with fabric discontinued 5 years ago), SIL 2 again tried to steal the quilted table runner to make an obi for a Christmas kimono (I think she was kidding). I think I'll be able to hold strong until new years, however, there's a Connecting Threads collection I've had my eye on and if they mark it down before the end of the year, all bets are off! looking forward to doing better in 2019

I made up two quilts for a family in need this week. Simple quilts from panels and no trip to the fabric store needed. Love using what I have to help others.

Good going, LindaJane. I'm sure those folks will appreciate your gifts every time they are wrapped in them.

I ordered notions for my sewing machines and 1 piece of background fabric. I went to my LQS and p/u my 2 BOM and bought a QOV book. I also dropped off my Nebraska quilt top to be quilted. I spent, but didn't go too crazy. I'm debating about buying a large piece of blue fabric. I could use this fabric in numerous projects I have going. I will probable go back and p/u the fabric. And that should finish my fabric buying for a several months. Chat with you all next year. Happy holidays everyone.

I had planned on continuing my personal fabric moratorium through the end of the year, but then those luscious dyed muslin fat quarter bundles at Craftsy went on sale and I grabbed three to go with the one I already had so that I’d have a full yard of each color. A new pair of Machingers gloves and Ginghers shears also jumped into my basket. DH has been told he can wrap them up and put them under the tree for me- so....in reality, rather than falling off the wagon, I like to think that I did a good deed by saving DH from having to Look for christmas gifts for me. I also told him to check my Amazon wish list as I’m in need of new socks.

Rryder, you're Christmas gifts under the tree to yourself reminds me that I did the same thing years ago when the kids were toddlers. My husband was a true Grinch and wouldn't buy any gifts at all! (I shouldn't call him a Grinch. Believe me, that's insulting to the Grinch!) So when I ordered toys, etc., from Sears for him and the kids, I added stuff for me. When the box came from, I took out the presents for me and wrapped them right away so I didn't get a chance to really see them. When Christmas morning came and all the packages were opened, I had something to open and cheer about. Silly, huh.
