Hey Sewbiz, root planing is when they plane the rough spots and tartar/plaque off your roots. Apparently some pockets where food gets trapped and creates gum inflammation are made worse by those rough areas. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, they used some topical numbing agents and once those had taken effect they added in some numbing injections. Right now my mouth feels sort of like the way you feel after getting a root canal or having a tooth pulled.

So what is the line of seperation between a UFO and a long WIP? One year? Six months? What do the rest of you think?

I tend to think of my finished tops as UFOs, and my kitted projects as WIPs. If I complete a top and then move on to piecing something else, it becomes a UFO. A project is 'current' if it stays out in the sewing room, regardless of how long it stays around, but if I put it away, it becomes a UFO.
