Here is the link to today's clue:

This one looks like trouble to me. Going back to re-read and print out.

Same here. I just read it and I’m totally confused. Maybe it will make sense after I’ve had my coffee.

And Clue 3 confirmed that we are done with Gold (or whatever you subbed for it).

This is definitely the not the most straight forward clue.

As a highly visual person, I found the last picture, where the ruler is on top of a completed unit, the most helpful in understanding it all. An important thing is that the lines of the ruler run along the length-wise or width-wise grain of the fabric. Two of the edges of the completed unit have bias edges. (And the half-square triangle that was the first component of this unit has bias edges on the outside of itself, and its diagonal seam is on the grain.)

Bonnie says there is more to come for this unit, so expect that that the bias edges will be joined with the bias edges on some other (future?) component. Or possibly, these triangles will be used as setting triangles.

I still had a fair amount of gold left, so this makes me feel much more confident that I will have plenty of fabric regardless of which method I use for each week's units or if I make a few mistakes. This week's clue seems a bit complicated, especially as I'd really like to try out my new Accuquilt cutting machine and it's a little hard to figure out what die would be appropriate. At least I know I have some margin for error!

I've being doing my first BOM quilt this year and the fabric allowance is very tight, so when I tried Bonnie's triangle tool instead of the "traditional rotary method" in the instructions, I ended up running out of fabric one month, so I've been rather nervous about running out of fabric for this mystery quilt (my first)!

I think I know what die to use....but today, I am going to take one of the quarter square dies and make a practice one out of other scraps and see how well it measures up with the measurements she gives in the clue at the end....if it does, I am good to go...if it doesn't, I got to figure out where I put bonnie's ruler...I think I got it a few years ago...I have that other little ruler that came with it....but where is that ruler? I need to get organized some day. On a brighter note....the die I ordered for last week is supposed to get here today...so now I will have two clues to do having took last week off waiting for the die.

This one is a bear to figure out. In my sample block I tried a scant, a full, an almost and in the fourth try, it worked. A perfect fourth. This is definitely where accurate seams are needed. I don't have the triangle ruler so it's making squares for me.

I've put away my golds, tidied my neutrals and greens and printed out the clue. I went through my oranges again; I hadn't picked out that many to use, but managed to find enough to keep them all unique. Pulled out a few more reds, too, to make the number. I also picked new neutrals to use with this clue, so I will have lots of pressing to do.

I think I will get last week's clue to a neat stopping place and get started on this one. My idea of doing both dark and light neutrals for each neutral clue seems like folly now. Once I get a few of the light neutral clue 2s done, perhaps I will get some clarity on the issue.

@sewingpup if you figure out which die, would you mind sending it to me in a private message?

I just finished making some units just like this clue- for a Christmas quilt. Sized aren't the same but that is no big deal. I'm going scrappy with neutrals as I have so many of them, did the same for the last clue. I love using my easy angle ruler for blocks like this, and I've found I convert most directions so I can use it. The quilt I'm working on is a good example, the directions call for cutting squares and then cutting them on the diagonal, often twice. That method just is not for me!
