I was able to finish up Part 4 today in between Saturday chores... I really like these units when part 3 came out... I really really like these now... I may just make the balance of units on all parts and do the BH larger version. Lol...I feared this would happen...lol.. and, I’, glad I stayed with the white only neutral...those colors really pop..

These units look gorgeous, Teen! I'm not doing this year's mystery, but I sure am enjoying seeing what everyone is doing. So lovely.

@joe'smom The fabric is not pre-washed and typically they are only measuring too short along the top, but not the bottom. I measured the individual neutral/gray HSTs and the units from clue #3 and they were correctly sized, so it was definitely how I was putting them together. So today I starched the fabrics more heavily (especially the thinner neutral), use little or no steam when pressing, and sewed the seams more scantly (is that even a word?!)...and about 30% come out perfect...the rest are less than 1/8" off and are mostly very close to rectangles rather than parallelograms! I re-did all the ones from last night and they are much better now. I have about 1/3 left to finish but didn't want to do them as I got tired tonight, so will get them done tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to make them all work in the final quilt.

I'll admit I am not a huge fan of this unit. I don't like flying geese either, so maybe that's why?! But mostly, I think it was just rather fiddly for my liking. I cut my triangles with my Accuquilt Go and I think if I were doing this unit again, I'd use a different method for the clue #4 part so I could cut them a bit bigger and have a larger margin of error during final assembly.

Leheath8, I hope the starching helps...these fiddly bias edges seem to behave better for me when my fabric is starched before I cut.
I hope to get Clue 4 cut today. My oldest son (who lives 600 miles away) has challenged me to a bake-off, and we are making Star bread....it looks rather intimidating, so we shall see! He is trying to keep me occupied while we stay safe at home....sweet kid! ❤️

leheath8, I am so happy to hear your good news. It's amazing how easily flying-geese units can become wonky. There is much to be said for oversizing and cutting them down!

I finally got my treadle up and running this morning, it took a lot of fiddling to set the seam allowance accurately, and am zooming away at the triangles from clue 3. Lost one of my days off last week, so more than a little behind, but I should have enough time next weekend to get caught up. It is going much, much faster on the treadle without having to stop and pull each set of triangles out of my stitch plate.

I finished cutting clue 3 last night. I'm going to tidy my reds/oranges and press my new neutrals, and then I can I begin sewing. Fun day ahead!

Teen your units are beautiful! Enjoying following everyone's progress. My unit 4's need trimming, otherwise pretty much caught up. I forgot how to post pictures. Will research the posts.

Finally finished clue 4. Today I think my percentage of close to perfect or perfect units rose to 50-60% so practice does make (close to) perfect! I think they are all close enough that they will be ok however they end up in the final quilt! On Facebook it is clear I’m not the only one who struggled this week. Sure glad I’m only making 2/3rds of the unit but equally happy that my technique obviously improved over the course of the clue (benefit of so many units even though I’m doing less than the full requirement).

I love reading and seeing everyone’s progress. I’m not doing the mystery this year. I’m on a ‘prefer to use up my leftover blocks/squares’ kick right now. 🤷‍♀️

leheath8: I’m glad you’re blocks are measuring closer to the correct size. I know how frustrating it can be. If you have the larger Accuquilt die for a particular unit, you could use it and cut it down especially on the Flying Geese.
