Carol, that's a gorgeous quilt! Very unexpected colors that work beautifully. Well done.

Default Borders Added!

Finally added the borders to my Grassy Creek quilt. My borders are similar to those included in the Grassy Creek instructions but are actually based on the Dawn’s Early Light quilt Bonnie posted a picture of on her blog on Inauguration Day last month. That quilt is in her String Frenzy book — which is not one of the books my library has available as an ebook — so I paused my progress on the quilt until I received that book from her by mail. Great book by the way.

This was my first Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt and I had a great time with it. I will definitely do another one. I only did roughly half the blocks and the finished size is 70” square.

Finally finished it today! This is only the third quilt I’ve done on my long arm and it’s nearly twice the size of any quilt I’ve made previously! I’m really please with how it came out!

What bright, bold, and happy colors your chose, congratulations on both the finish and quilting. It’s always a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when you pull it off the longarm. You did an amazing job!

I finally got back to it, Grassy Creek in my ocean colors. I kinda stopped cuz I ran out of the light blues that I'm using now for my strip piece sashing. Found some at a local yard sale, but not a lot... After looking at it on my design wall for a few weeks now, I decided that I liked the way the solid lt. blue pops in the center of the stars, so why not change out the green in the 9-patches, they've been bugging me for whatever reason. So, I had a large piece of lt. blue solid in the yard sale lot & had to try it. Likin it !!
