Default Quilting ideas

I am soooooo glad to be finished! Now I need ideas for quilting this thing. I will use my Tiara mid-arm and want a quick overall pattern. Would stippleing be ok?

Yay Terry! I'm at a complete loss for how to quilt mine, but that's always the hard part for me. I'm quite likely to have this one quilted by someone else and go with the done is better than not done however it ends up.

Some of our board members (and some in this thread even) do such wonderful things with their quilting. I'd love to hear/see some options.

When you say stippling, is that the same as a meander? If you're going with an overall design, I think a meander is as nice as anything and gives a traditional look.

Okay I need help. I got frustrated with this quilt. It is my first Bonnie Hunter. I put it in a box. I pulled it out today because I have three days off. Who's 6 I have 12 sets dark and I can't find my directions for Clue 6 I have 7 8 and 9 and I have them all color coded but I am assuming I'm going to need 25 blocks. So do I need 13 of the light blue in green that's all I need I hope somebody still here. Kathryn

Going back, it looks like Clue 6 was 12/31, New Year's Eve. Discussion starts around page 74. I didn't print out or keep the PDFs because I was following in real time. You can still buy the project but that seems sort of silly for one step.

My notes show my flying geese units with the Parakeet color along with what I'm calling "blue QST" which looks to have been made in step 4. My notes say it is 41 sets -- I believe that this is where we start separating out our block subunits from our border subunits.

kathryn7887, I'm not clear on what you mean by '12 sets dark.' As you're probably aware, we're not permitted to share specific numerical information on the pattern. However, if you have the later clues, you can count the number of blocks and half blocks as shown in the finished quilt top diagram.

Clue 6 was the making of flying geese, using the blue (not aqua) QST from the clue 4 sets, and green wings.

These Frolic clues were unusually challenging because of putting so many pieces aside and then having to sort them out in later clues. I hope it won't discourage you from trying another Bonnie mystery, because the clues are normally more straightforward than they were for this mystery.

I'm thinking that I need to do 13 sets of 4 in the parrot or green and light blue. Thank goodness I kept everything in bags. And marked with the clue numbers and how many I made of each set. I didn't. Want to be unethical about anyting. I have the dark blue and the parrot flying geese I have 12 sets of 4 done that's why I'm thinking I just need 13 sets of four flying geese with the green and the light and then we'll be Off to the Races I'm going to get this thing done

I'm not sure if by 'light blue' you are meaning the aqua, or the lighter of the two blues. I'm going to refer to the blues as medium and dark blue, and to the aqua as aqua.

If you are meaning that you've made a certain number of geese with green and dark blue and you now need to make a certain number of geese with green and your medium blue, that is right -- the blue and green geese could be made with either the dark or the medium blue, as long as there is good contrast between your chosen blue and the aqua. We do not make any aqua geese with green wings. But you will need more (sets of 4) than the total number of full blocks, because you will also need two blue/green geese for each half block (for setting) and one blue/green goose for each quarter block (for the quilt corners). Looking at the finished quilt top diagram is a big help.

I am so pleased with my finish. I did 1/3 size and got myself crazy trying to use spare parts into borders. So I set it aside.
Since then I've been rediagonosed with lung cancer, so I decided to keep it smallish for cuddling in, and try something new for the reverse side, working in strips rather than blocks. It was fun, I'm going to try it again.
I intend to get it quilted this week, and will bind in the black. All 30's reproductions fabrics.
