I guess it was a good day to take a few pictures. They look so small an insignificant lying there on the table.
New count is 95 with 96 under the needle today. I might manage 2 today as a small medical thingy has instructed me to stay off my feet today (can't long arm ), don't sit to long (can't thread paint - I lose track of time ) and with specific instructions NOT to VACUUM, I CAN lie on the chaise in the sun!!
Most are untrimmed and one or two might be undersized, but that's for tomorrow to fix.

Welcome MaryKatherine.

Yes, QuiltE can be quite persuasive. I am doing a PC because of her. And, I hate to admit it, I am really enjoying the process.

You sound like you will get the quilt done in time. Very determined and organized. And I totally agree with your style of housekeeping.

Your blocks look wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing it all together.

Great looking blocks MaryKatherine!

I made the PC (Pony Club) quilt with QE and many others here on the board and have become friends through that. I have fabric chosen for my DJ quilt, but due to some health issues this spring haven't gotten started yet...hopefully before the end of the year.

I have enjoyed watching everyones progress this year!

Welcome MaryK! Beautiful blocks and all hand pieced......wow!!! I made most of the PC blocks but didn't make THE quilt. I used some of the blocks in a quilt and the rest is waiting for inspiration
No DJ blocks in the near future for me, have to finish quilting one special quilt first and I do have too many projects going. I don't know what I'm going to finish or continue after I finished that special one.
You sound way more organized than I am

QuiltE, no pic of all my DJ blocks yet, battery died so it's reviving right now. I will be kind and not tell how persuasive you can be

I'm a bit of a fraud, saying "welcome" on this site, as I am not a FWS person, nor a PC person, though I was a FFC person. And I have NO INTENTION of doing a DJ quilt (quiet, QuiltE!!). But I will say that I have long admired your work MaryKatherine, and look forward to seeing even more of it on this thread. And as an ex-pat Canadian who studied at U of G, I look forward to any tidbits of Southern Ontario news that you and QuiltE care to share... Alison

OK all you rabble rousers l.. trying to stir up trouble!
You know I have only encouraged each of you for what you really wanted.
I know ...put the blame on me, and feel better!

Don't you all like MaryK's Doctor?? ... no vacuuming! I think we would all appreciate that Doc!

MaryK ... what beautiful colours and detailed work. I just can't fathom doing it ALL by hand! Looks like you will soon be crossing the century line! You had a beautiful day to be basking in the sun and stitching! BTW many of these non-DJ'ers have provided for my blue stash .... so they can say their fabric is in a DJ!

Starting with W4Me ... who planted the seed of a different blue in each of my DJ blocks. Well, more than planted, she kept nagging .... and started shipping fabric! As for "hates to admit"... yup, you know you wanted those nudges!

Anael ... get that battery charged and show off your blocks! Please??

CarrieM ... you'll get to DJ, when the time is right for you. Meanwhile, follow along and keep gathering tidbits towards doing your own.

AlisonQ ... hardly a fraud! Love to help keep your Canadian roots, strong and firm!!!!!!!!

My Story ... a year and a half a go, no way I was ever going to do DJ. Then I kept hearing, seeing, reading more and more and started to think about it. About this time I made the decision that yes, it would happen, and made the plan to have my colours and fabrics organized to start in the winter. My first blocks got done around Christmas, with the blue plan. However, the initial plan was to use the blues I had, and then repeat. Then W4Me, did her magic!!!!!! And many of you helped out!

My plan also was to not have it as a project in the forefront, but to do whenever I felt like it. Kind of as an in-between thing. I knew from doing FWS and PC, I was so focused on each at the time, and did not do much of anything else. I knew I wanted a less stressful route, though I needed some support like we had with the FWS and PC, if I was ever going to finish DJ. So yes, some encouragement to those who had some DJ interest, to follow me in a Leisure Jane approach.

At Christmas, I did 13, and realized it really was not all that time consuming and thought, yes, I can get 13 done per month ... the equivalent of a row. So it became my monthly goal ... but also, that I was not going stress out on that, if I did not get them done. Last month, I fell short ... but with some months with an extra one or two, I was able to keep that average, and still have a couple extras. Long term, I am not going to do a traditional DJ setting. I know ... the purists will think this is terrible! Sorry, that's just me ... have to put my own personal touches on it!

Here's "Jane Sings The Blues" thru to the end of May with 80 blocks done.
I think I have three done in June so far. Better get moving to get to 13 (or more!)

I never thought of putting them on the wall where I could admire them and use them for inspiration. I've been tucking them away in baggies, no less. Well that's going to change....today! PS. managed to get 2 done "basking in the sun" my what a lovely tan!

Hi MaryKatherine and a big welcome to you..

So here is my story

A realllly long time ago I joined a wonderful group of ladies to make the Farmers Wife Sampler quilt, a dozen or more of us finished and formed such firm friendships that we decided to make the Farmers Wife Pony Club quilt, we added a few newbies, lost a few participants, but they quickly turned into our cheer squad.
The original FWS group is still together, chatting most days.
Fast forward to the FFC challenge and QuiltE starting her DJ, I resisted and said I was not going to make DJ never never never... I now have 39 blocks made and I blame it all on QuiltE, she is so persuasive

Love your blocks, I am working with a pink and brown colour palette.

pssssssst MiraB .... photo?????????????
shush oh my persuasiveness ... you *shocked* me when you started. Just as W4Me did when she started her Halloween Pony. You both were never never nevers .... and I totally believe and accepted it!

MaryK ... duhhhhhhhhhhhh get them up on your design wall! Only problem, if you need the design wall, they are in the way. So I made mine, their very own wall!!! New problem ... design wall is almost full now, but the good news is there is still IRL wall space, that I can add more design wall right there. And yes, right straight in front of where I sit and sew to keep reminding me to make more! Hope you have Dr's orders to keep to the chaise lounge again today for more DJ productivity!!

Isn't working in a group great?

Hi MaryK...beautiful blocks. My earliest quilting years ago was all done by hand. Fingers don't cooperate so well now.
Alison...I'm sort of with you....cheerleader.
My story...I joined this group for the Pony Club quilt and still hang around. It's been inspiring, uplifting, and encouraging to be part of this group. Right now I have a couple of others projects going with IRL QBs and haven't seriously considered DJ. I don't dare mention out loud that it is on my bucket list or QuiltE will start twisting my arm so this is just a silent statement. BTW...my bucket is very deep!
