I did a close-up of the edge showing the back fabric, and the binding I will be using. I had a lot of fun making this quilt, went a little crazy on the back. Best part of all is every thing that was used in the quilt both front and back including thread came from my stash.
Oh, Emma! Your quilt is fabulous!!! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!

I should watch this movie again.

Most unfortunately, I saw it in a theatre filled with teenage boys who started hootin' & hollerin' and created total chaos. I have no idea why they were there in the first place since it certainly wasn't the type of movie to attract the pesky things.

Working on piecing the back and guess who hossied the quilt? Yup, the little miscreant aka Carlos.

Oops, sorry I forgot to include the link. I think it's the same one that SunlightenSmiles posted.

BOY! I went to my charity quilting group this morning which always starts with "Sew and Tell". When it was my turn I showed my Grand Illusion top and... (stares...). Finally somebody said something: "I would never make something with that many pieces". .WHAT THE HECK? This group oohs and ahhs over anything so it was definitely not the reaction I was expecting. Bummer.

Sorry you had that experience, sewbizgirl! As we learned in our own little group here, this pattern isn't everyone's cup of tea. But I would think someone might have commented on all the work it represented, even if they didn't care for the pattern personally. Sheesh.

Sewbizgirl, that is awful! I agree with joesmom. If nothing else, they could have admired the detail and obvious effort that went into this quilt. I must say that now that my top is nearly finished, it's growing on me. It's still not my favorite, but I'm pretty sure I've made others I liked less, and I had fun along the way so I'm counting it as a success!

Sewbizgirl - wow, did they even see the secondary pattern that I love in this quilt? Next time, take 15 steps backwards and let them try again. LOL!
