Afternoon everyone,
Sounds like there's a lot of patriotism in the air, all over. Great.
Muv, I missed the torch here, and the Olympics, and they were in my backyard just about. I regret it but don't regret the crowds. I'm taking advantage of your Olympics by buying some of the British themed fabric that is available now.
ghostrider - Wow. Yes, that certainly conveys a wonderful message.
I was up again at 5AM so got some work done on my quilt top. These are the base blocks:

And then I weeded for about an hour and then finished the basic top:
[ATTACH=CONFIG]338009[/ATTACH]
Time for a break from the quilt and a visit with the in-laws. I've picked out my inner and outer borders but haven't cut them yet.
I'm happy with how fast this is suddenly coming together.

Ghostrider - how big is the design? It's very striking!
Works4me - love the maple leaves, it's looking good now they are all put together.
Did you see that the Mounties were on guard duty at Buckingham Palace this week?

Thank you all. After being away from the quilt top for several hours, I took a peek. Yup, I'm still happy. 
I had a vision and it is coming together nicely. Isn't QuiltE going to be surprised when she returns from her class.
No, I didn't know the Mounties were on guard. Cool. I'll bet they will react to the public and will tell everyone later how hard it is to stay focussed.

Ghostie ... Brilliant!!! Now that could be a design you could market!!! Have you decided how you will proceed from here? Size? wall hanging? or?

Muv ... Yes .. saw our Mounties on Duty! They were calling it a "Royal Exchange" on the news here ...... we had Charles and Camilla in exchange for our Mounties on guard for The Queen. And to think that one of our female mounties made history, by being the first female to be on guard duty for The Queen.
