Alrighty now Im awake ..... two hours later or so... Yes Dublb I have been in weekly physical therapy for some time now. The accident was over two years ago. So I have been dealing with this for awhile now. Its just a sad situation. Two of the elderly ladies that were in the car that hit me have already passed away, not from the accident but from old age Im told. This coming October will be three years. The court process will hopefully be completed by then. Anyways I will have bouts where my pain levels are worse than others. Its just the way things are.. so.... SEW its all good. Pain is back to a reasonable level for now; sew Im going to get busy and work on the firetruck so I can show you all the front. Much more fun to chat about quilting.

Time to .... Meet Our Man Monty!
(and I can hear W4Me saying, "It's about time!")

One good thing about having a heat wave ... my sewing room is nice and cool and refreshing and my office not! So when I can't handle it anymore, I have no alternative to seek refuge!!! Last night got the first round of cutting done. Tonight, hopefully get the background cutting done ... maybe even some stitching?

So here heeeeeere's Monty .....Stage One .........

You can see I am still auditioning his hat fabric. Am using some pleather ... hope I don't regret that!! Any tips on that, are welcome. The background fabric is draped to the side ... it has the words to O Canada printed on it! His skin is looking a little too ruddy, so I'm going to stash dive for something better. Already wondering if I can leave his eyes/nose/mouth out? And just let the mustache represent the face?

BTW ... the heat wave? ... it's 32C here again today, with a humidex of 43C! Yesterday I was on the road, so my truck a/c kept me nice and comfy between meetings. Today not so lucky ... stuck in the office, and all I have are some fans! Can you guess why? ... I'm cutting the day short and I'm outta here!

Woo hoo! Yippee! Yee ha! Hi Monty. You are a handsome devil, aren't you?

It looks like Monty should go together quite quickly. Personally, I think the 'stache works well to represent the face.

You know he's going to need a horse next year, don't you?

Summer is trying to arrive here but not doing too good a job of it. 7 degrees when I left for work this morning. Supposed to be nice today and I think tomorrow and then back to a cool Spring Friday.

Monty says hello, Ladies!
We had a good night together ... and some good progress made. Slow going, as the background fabric is directional, and the pattern does not take that into account. Have found a couple of pieces where the pattern measurements are wrong!! Just slowed me down a little with some frog stitching and new cutting.

Thanks
JenniKy ... it's kind of a fun project!!!

W4Me
... Funny thing ... I was thinking now how could I put a horse in there? So, find me a horse that I can put with him, and I could incorporate it in this year's !!!!!!! Another hot hot day tmro/Thursday and then they tell us it will cool off, though I don't think quite so cool as you have it now! I like your idea of a 'stache only face too!!

No worries QuiltE I just love making horses.. and depending upon what you wanted I could possibly try to make you a pattern. But I would need to have an image in my head of how you want the horse positioned next to Monty frontal or standing behind Monty. IDK just a thought. The ones I have done so far have only been head, neck and shoulders. So more of a body would be a challenge.. and you know me and a challenge..LOL

My thought was a horse standing beside Monty (to the right. I don't know why, but to the right when you are looking at Monty.). Only front of the horse would be visible, head, chest and front legs. Well, maybe the tail peeking around the body. But, it isn't my quilt panel. That is, IF it is incorporated into this year's panel. Otherwise, a separate full horsey with a Canadian flag on a pole beside him.
