I love those blocks. Good job.

Mkotch.....love your blocks. I think the main reason this pattern appealed to me is the black & white background. Looks awesome!

I'm quilting The Avenue now and hope to be finished by the end of the week. As I looked at it all put together, the motifs looked more like tulips than trees to me. Maybe it's because I'm Dutch. Anyway, I'm quilting leaves along the stems, using my walking foot. Having a great time. Photo soon!

Oh...this sounds really cool, Mkotch....can't wait to see it... Trying to picture in my mind how you are quilting a leaf with a walking foot.....I'd be interested in knowing how you are doing that....

Also, all of her so called templates are not templates for the pieces in the block. She has the four inch blocks shown with lines drawn inside the squares for each of the pieces....some info, it indicates you have to add seam allowance onto these pieces.....however you have to use a light table to draw the pieces on something else, separate the pieces, add your seam allowance.....then you see in the pattern that she wants you to cut on the lines....but not on all pieces......are you getting the idea here.....When I pay this much for a pattern, I expect clear information, and an easier process for piecing.....lots of work before you even make it to your machine. Still love her quilts.
I followed umpteen blogs when Gypsy Wife was all the rage: the above is exactly why I decided not to buy the very expensive pattern.
Some day I'll make my own version of Gypsy Wife.
For those of you who are having problems, try googling "blogs" + "Gypsy Wife". There are many solutions to the problems, not to mention absolutely wonderful Eye-Candy!

I finished The Avenue and am attaching a photo. It was fun to do! I'm taking a break from Kingwell designs for a while although I love how they require concentration and devotion!

It's fantastic, Mkotch! I absolutely love it! Black/white and bright....nummy! Wonderful quilt....and I totally understand the need to take a break from Kingwell's designs. I did the same.

Wondering if anyone is working on "Dear Jen" these days? I just ordered the pattern but it's slow in coming.

I don't think anyone is Mkotch! I'm not, that's for sure. I love your Avenue!! Lots of curved piecing? That's what holding me back from ordering the pattern.
I did buy the Boho Hearts and two others. But as usual I have to finish some UFO"s first!!

Default My Gypsy Wife

Yes, her patterns leave allot to be desired but I was determined and had great success. Need allot of patience and good eye sight.
