I have that problem to, Usually start to sew slowly and pray! lol

But have found that by using a starter scrap piece of fabric to start the seam helps. Do this by placing the scrap under your needle, sew on that for even just a few stitches while you place your triangle corner at the needle to stitch. Your needle should go straight to the quilt piece without messing up the corner.

can you cut the tips off? fons and porter have a ruler for taking off the "rabbit ears"..
