Lovely bright blocks.

Wildyard, we can't find the answer on the internet, so I will ask my computer geek nephew and get back to you. I think the apps only work on the iPhone and iPads, but not 100%.

Wildyard, love your colorful quilt! The t-shirts really blend very well together. What a treasure for your friend.

carrie--great graphic blocks!

wildyard--brave of you not to stabilize the knits..kudo's to your piecing and quilting without the backings.

I pulled out a UFO inspired by Barbara Brackman's Under Lincoln's stars. I have all the small and large checkerboards sewn together. Working on the 8pt stars now. A total of 143 8" blocks. With 4" borders will finish 96 x 117. All from my scraps. Here's my EQ rendition

OK: Wow. Easily 80% of the way, although in my book flying geese aren't easy. Excited to see it all go together. I use EQ too and find that it never really does justice to the 'real' scrappy.

QltrSue 07-04-2014 04:38 AM

Ok--wow! That is gorgeous! Love how the mini-check stars sort of "border"the main body of blocks. Good for you to persevere on that beautiful project!

oksewglad 07-04-2014 07:14 AM

Thanks Emma and QltSue. Yes Emma usually don't want to "color" every block in a scrappy EQ quilt!:D

The original pattern is a 7 x 8 block setting of the stars and checkerboards. I added the extra blocks and the mini check stars to increase the size. My beds are bigger than Lincoln's! Barbara Brackman designed this simple quilt for the Lincoln Museum. Here's a link to the quilt made by a California DAR

This was intended as June's finish, but it ran away from home for three weeks for a customer quilt show, so it still is not done. Just posting a pic as motivation. Pattern by Jinny Beyer.

And this is still way far from done. Pattern from our very own dunster. Detecting a pattern here in color choices.

Krisb--both very pretty quilts. Is the pattern for the 2nd one something I can buy? My dad is wanting a quilt with a "big star" in the middle and I think this would be perfect.

You can buy it from Dunster. This should get you to her profile. Her avatar us a variation of this quilt-- you can tell how much i have still to do.
