So here's the border treatment. Although I did just buy this bag of fabric about a week ago, it was $2.99 and the scraps are going to the crumb quilter so no net increase in stash. I am using a stash fabric for the backing.

I debated back and forth over the border. The quilting will be very simple and I didn't want too wide an edge. Thought about using squares but the math of those extra 2 inches with the narrow border threw off most of those ideas. Not entirely happy, but it's on and staying on :)

Binding will be the yellow again, still need to make it.

I also got out the backing I wanted to use for the baby block top. It is just perfect right now -- so too small once I put on a border. That's ok. I have another one in stash that is bigger and will work fine and now I know.

Very cute, Iceblossom. I like the border.

Well, my whole day has just been a fiasco. The quilt on the longarm is a mess. There is some sort of flaw in the ProStitcher upgrade, motors keep stopping when I advance to the next pass, causing the design to be placed wrong. So this quilt will become a dog quilt

Then I had trouble with the antique sewing machine, got that resolved, but messed up the fabric I was using. It was part of a wall hanging kit so no extra fabric. May have to find a substitute. So now I am plunked in front of the TV in no mood to sew.

Colorful quilt IceBlossom!

grann of 6...some days are like that...hope tomorrow goes better!

I bought 1/2 yard of fabric today. My backing was short and this one doesn't lend itself to piecing. It's been washed and will be used tonight, so I'm still golden.
I'm also piecing the batting rather than buy a new package - I was short 3" on one side.

2 more quilt tops finished! The first top has donated orphan blocks, practice blocks, and rows of squares and has been a WIP this summer. The other one was adapted from a baby size pattern in one of my books. They both measure around 70” by 80” and will be donated to my church group to sandwich, bind, and tie.

Very nice, RT. They will be appreciated.

You get so many tops done, Connie! I like the layout on the second one.

In my reorganizing quest, I found 56-10" denim and "calico" blocks sewn and numbered in rows ready to sew. Since I haven't sewn in a while, Sunday night I sat down and webbed the blocks, Eleanor Burns style. Yesterday got it finished. Found some flannel for backing and it's on the LA frame waiting to be quilted. When finished I can deduct 8 yards from stash! And my DIL liked it so it's going up to their home--win win in decluttering all around.

Well done! Love the top one!

Really nice tops Connie! I like the layout of the second one as well. Have fabric squares to try it too. Love how the background fabric looks.
