I've gotten my solids box replaced. Took the hand dyes out of the bag I bought them in and off the chair in my bedroom and they pretty well fill up their own box. I had planned to work with those this year, but as I've said, I've had a hard time starting my own projects and after six months of sitting it was time to put them away. Straightened up the green box, I've been playing in there lately and stacked it up along with the batik box that I don't think I'll be adding anything.

And I've set up a designated to be sorted zone. It's quite large...

Good job sorting through things, Iceblossom-- doing a little bit of time really adds up.

Today I received a large box of very nice fabrics from my neighbor across the street. Her mother loved to sew and had good taste in fabrics. I can use just about everything in the box. The question now is, where to put it? I have been using up my stash, but not enough to have room for everything she gave mehttps://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/shock.png. I might need a hand back up onto the wagon, even though I didn't buy any fabric... what do y'all think? Does this count as a fall? it might be as much as 50 or 60 yards..... I haven't checked, just looked at what was there.

Irish & Ice, yes, it's great to have a sewing buddy and have access to my stash again!
Yesterday I used denim from worn out jeans to patch 3 pairs of blue jeans, so a slight reduction there. Since I moved here in late May, my constant sewing has prevented snacking, so I've lost 11 pounds. This means I can fit back into the patched jeans, & I had to take waist tucks in the jeans I bought during my limbo time while most of my clothes were in storage. Another benefit to full-time quilting.
K & I sandwiched 3 quilts yesterday, including my Scrappy Stars, which I began quilting. I'm sewing along all sashing, then I'll try diagonal lines across each 12" block. I'm using my new Baby Lock, which has a big throat. We roll the quilts into what we call anacondas, & so far my fully rolled quilt has fit in the BL throat with no crowding. It's great!

Conchalea, do you have a BL Jazz? They have such a nice big throat and work well for quilting. I'm thinking that this will be my next machine. I'm not into embroidery work and just want a good sewing machine.

OK, yes, a Jazz II. It sews smoothly & I've certainly been enjoying it!

Time to check in with my moratorium pals. I have been sewing but not much finished. One top ready for layering. I also finished making 16 Chemo bags for the local hospital - three yards of muslin out of the stash. Ta-Da! And today my granddaughter and I made three dog beds for the local ASPCA. She picked out fabric from my stash, I sewed and then she stuffed them with the little clippings and small pieces of fabric and batting that I collect and save. She is not interested in learning to sew but she loves animals and thinks that this is a terrific project. Total removed from my stash is about 4 yards of fabric. Oh, and I started cutting a baby quilt for a last minute baby shower. Hurry, Hurry, Hurry! Jelly roll from stash and back purchased. Nothing in my stash to match in any way. Yesterday was the first birthday party for my grandbaby :) Joyous celebration even with the smoke in the air. Imagine twilight at 4:00 with the sun an orange frisbee in the sky.

Next couple of days I'll be doing minimal fabric playing but will be putting the house in order for our trip, we still intend to leave on Wednesday despite smoke and plague. I'm assuming I'll be off-line, but we can also assume I won't be going hog-wild buying fabric (but it's starting to sound like a really good idea...). Jordan Fabrics is still closed to the public, but I ordered fabric from them for my round robin which I've already confessed to, and that was the only fabric related stop originally planned. (don't think two yards at full price is worthy of my birthday exemption but it might be all the fabric I get) Still haven't gotten the RR, but I'm thinking it will go very well indeed with the top.

Hubby will be doing trip preparation things like checking Diners, Drive-ins and Dives to see if we are going past anywhere we want to stop. Not from Guy, but from the cooking shows I think there is BBQ in Vancouver, WA I want to look into. He has Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland on the itinerary even though we won't be going through there at a good time... he wants a maple bacon donut or whatever. It would be better timing on the way back, there is a Eugene location now but I think he wants that original ambiance.
