Belfrybat -- gorgeous! You were right to use the black background. The brown corners don't look bad at all. What color binding are you planning on using? The brown may not have to be changed out. This was a great pattern ! Thank you for showing us your progress!

I'm not participating but I have downloaded all the steps for when I do have time. Got them all this morning, only a day late.

Better a day late than a dollar short, Snooze. The last several mysteries are on the FB page so unlike some designers she keeps them up for years. I use back to front binding, so will probably go with a blue backing. I guess I can audition it and see what I think, but will probably change out for black corners. If I'd been the designer I would have continued the square in square blocks for the corners.
