Just because of my experience with past BH's designs I opted for constants in the black, yellow and neutral. I think its an easy way to simplify the appearance of the quilt. Though I still like some of the colors to be scrappy. Sorry about the shadow, overhead lighting is great when your not in your own shadow.

Just in case anyone is not on Facebook. Several quilters are substituting a solid block for the center with great results.

WOW. Busy busy!
I'm glad I used a constant for all the fabrics. The computer generated pictures are much less busy than her photo. I also planned on at least 1/4 size with the option of doing half (I have enough fabric for half). I'll have to play around and see which I prefer. I am way behind in sewing so may be a good time to increase or decrease before I go any further. After golf today I was going to get caught up. Now I will get out the paper and see how I want to do things. I am not on Facebook and I wonder which solid they are using for the centers? I may put it aside until some pictures are posted for ideas. |

Been playing around with the blocks. Decided to change the center block to a solid color and change the placement of the sashing. ..trying to reduce sensory overload of the pattern...if that's possible. LOL

Prefer the solid pink much more.

I like the pink centers, but I wouldn't change the placement of the sashing blocks. The blacks in the sashing are place to continue the "explosion" of the exploding block. Random black squares floating around just don't make any sense, IMO.

nanny, you are using the broken dishes with the neutral rather than the ones with aquas/pinks
Did you intend to do that or did you pick up the wrong stack? I like your aqua center and corners. |
