I always struggle between going with constant fabric or bold neutrals like Lisa's ~ I'm trying to step out of my box, but not quite there yet.
Oh, My Goodness, this is a lovely strip quilt!

As more people post their 9 patches, the more I would love to see them laid out together. That would be so great to see them all in one place

Is there some info printed somewhere that tells the amount of strips to cut? I hate to cut too many or not enough!
Thanks,
Kirsten

Not that I am aware of, BH does scrappy so there is no absolute number for the strips since they all would/ could be different lengths. You could figure it out by multiplying number of units needed x unit size, that will give you the total length in inches. Then divide that number by your strip length that will be how many strips you need. Since we are not suppose to post any measurements or number of units I will give a false example. Say you need 100 9 patches each 9 patch has 1 brown, 4 aqua and 4 neutrals. Say the 9 p is 6.5 inches you would need 4 x 100 aquas at 2.5 inches each. So 400 x 2.5 or 1000 inches. Now divide that by 40 inches (usable width of fabric or what ever width you are using) that would be 25 wof 2.5 inch strips. Then just repeat for the other sub units.

If you cut about 100" in total of brown, 400"-300" of aqua and neutrals Each I think you will have enough, but not too much left over. I am hoping Bonnie will use more 1.5" strips again as I cut enough to make another quilt! Woops!

I calculated how many strips to cut but ended up three 9-patches short. I’ll wait to see if we use any more strips that size before cutting more. My fabric yardages are pretty close and I don’t want to run short. I can easily make them up at the end if necessary.
