Stash-busting Challenge
#201
Thought I was going to be able to do Misty's peacock colors quilt all from stash, but got started on it and it was much too dark. So now it is going to be scrappy with the addition of the delightful variety of fabrics I found on my trip to Joann's. . .all somehow reminiscent of peacocks and everything from dark to light to bright. Can't wait to get a chance to work on it! Maybe Wednesday.

I want to play. I have a large stash, but not nearly as large as some I've heard described on here. I've made quilts from my stash for charity, but then go and replace it. I'm going to see how much I can reduce it by the end of this year.

Dottymo, idea is to use as much of your stash as you can without buying more - go back and read the guidelines on page 1 again. We all buy too much (well, I do anyway) and don't always use what we have already folded neatly in the closet/shelf/bin/under bed (wherever we store fabrics). I've had to buy for some of my projects, but it was a back or just one color to fill out the color pallette. Now, that doesn't say I haven't gone out and bought fabrics with no particular use in mind, cause I have. Got one all pulled out and sitting to start - totally from stash. Try to do one without buying and see if it works!!

I want to join. I am participating in the moratorium now too. I do like to use stash though. I used 100% stash on the following table runners--even the batting. They are both Christmas scrappies based off the Flurry pattern by Kate Spain for Moda. It's a free pattern and somewhat addictive. It adapts beautifully to scrappy and using up Christmas scraps. Just a caution...it's easy to get carried away making the presents...
This one is super long for a Christmas table...more than 6 feet.

This one is more a normal table runner size. I like to add tags to some of them to be personalized to the family whose table it graces. On this one I used scraps and varied the size/style of the present.
