ok we need to continue this for sure next year. I want to kill my stash before its outdated. no point storing fabric for years that no one would want anything made out of as its no longer the in style. I think I have 60 yrds of fabric give or take a couple.. it makes me very nervous. I need to kill it down a bit I know it. plus about 100 fq's.. yikes and of course four stacks of scrap smaller than a f4 but bigger than a f8.. they are18 inches tall each.. yikes. would make a killer scrappy quilt which I am about to get moving on.. rainbow colors. I can see it now.. bright colorful and well full of scraps phew. I know however I will have to add white or black at times to the stash so I can use it up. is that back peddling? should I quick run out go shopping and add it to the stash before I have to stop shopping? maybe say 10 yrds or so??? grin.. goody a shopping trip. lol no not shopping will just go to cream or blue if necessary. have lots of those. phew.

I am thrilled to say I did some stash busting from a swap we had, the snowmen this year and another from MyQuiltPlace.com. The blocks were the swap, but the sashing, binding, and the back are all from my stash of what I had collected over the years. On the dress quilt, I had all those fabrics hidden in a drawer, I did have to buy the pink background, but the rest of the fabric was from the stash. I bought a bolt of it and had this left, just the perfect amount! I have a little to stick in the scrap pile. Have to show the quilting on the back of the dress quilt. My niece is going to love it.

It's not a lot of "busting" but I did make this wall hanging from left overs of a quilt. I challenged myself to put together these off cuts and actually like how it turned out. My goal for this next week of vacation is to actually FINISH some things.

Nice job. That looks like it was a fun pattern to do. Sure you will have some fun this week busting some stash. I will be starting up again after the first of the year. I had to turn in the baby so it could get a maintenance check and repaired.

ok made me go count it I have 42 yrds of fabric, plus 63 fat quarters and a bunch of between f10 and f4's. and its killing me so how you have 200 well I would flop over .. yikes big time.. I maybe should be not so worried about my fabric addiction? heck went to equilters new sale. omg.. in the 4.00 range there are so many blenders and such that I need lol oh yeah need them like a hole in the head but really wowsa. its tough to bust ones stash when your tempted with big sales right now. keep me from going over the deep edge and joing the 'dark' side.. I so want a few of those fabrics and no idea what I would 'need' them for.. maybe just one.. or fifteen..

Cool Dated stash

Some beautiful posted quilts are on here. Leave it up to quiltermomma to know her yardage of stash. I think you are super organized. I love how to snowman and dress quilts came out. The backsides of the quilts are as beautiful as the front. Amazing quilting on the dress quilt.

All my true stash is out dated. I have more then several boxes of fabric that are well past vintage. I received them from other quilters. My dilemma is that I have no real $ at the moment to buy new fabric and will most likely not for possibly forever. This is why for now I am hanging onto it. We, DD 16 and I, did make some stockings with it and I used the fabric to finish 2 quilts made of swap blocks. A lot of the fabric is from the 1970-80 and 90ies. Can I be hopeful that some of it will come back in? Just from the calicoes I have a whole bin filled.

I really like the backing fabric from the blue quilt. My 15 yr old DD, the recipient of the blue snowflake quilt, thought so too.
