quiltingcandy, that is such a cute story! I still have my Betty Crocker cookbook for kids!

But unlike your Mom, my Mom wouldn't let anyone in her kitchen except to eat! lol

Fast, fast, fast! And easy! Canned fried apples from the grocery, crumble topping, bake. Since receiving the kit as a gift from Cracker Barrel old country store, this has become my "go to". So good.

Does anybody have the recipe from the back of the McCormiCJ's cinnamon can? It was a crumble topping with only 4 ingredients, butter, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. No oatmeal. I lost my copy and now, of course, they don't have it.

So several years ago home on maternity lease with new baby. Called hubby at work telling him apple crisp for dessert. It smelled so good had a serving, and another and...well you get the pictures. End of story...I had to make another pan. Luckily the first pan was only 8x8.

Can't get the page to load but found what might be it. Calls for 4 c. apple slices. 1 c. flour, 3/4 c. brown sugar, 1 tsp. McCormick cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. McCormick nutmeg, 1/2 c. softened butter, lemon juice. Place apples in 1 1/2 qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine remaining ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake 30-35 minutes at 375 degrees or until crusty and brown.

Good luck. Hope this is the one.

I bow to your Google-fu! I looked a few months ago and turned up nothing. That looks like the right one. Thank you so much!

I had aunt who used to make her apple crisp using similar proportions of ingredients but used white sugar and a beaten egg instead of the butter. It was very good too. This topping works well on many other fruits as well. The topping using the egg was not as crumbly but was very good. I too do not care for oatmeal in my apple crisp.
