COCA-COLA SALAD

Preparation time: 20 minutes.

Salad:
1 pkg. Black Cherry Jell-O (3 oz.)
1 pkg. Red Cherry Jell-O (3 0z.)
2 cups Coca-Cola Classic
1 can black bing cherries
1 can pineapple chunks, cut in half
1 cup chopped nuts
2-1/2 cups reserved juices from fruit

Bring Coke to a boil. Pour over Jell-O. Stir until Jell-O is dissolved. Add fruit, stir. Add juices and nuts. Pour into mold. Chill until set.

Topping:
1 cup of whipping cream
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Whip cream. Blend in sugar and vanilla.

Top salad with whipped cream just before serving.

This was in a cookbook (from Cibolo, Texas) Betty gave Ava. Excellent flavor.

The black cherry Jell-o is very hard to find. If you like this recipe, buy all of it whenever you see it.

I told some ody I would post this recipe. Took me a while to figure out how to post, then forgot who wanted it. Sorry.

True. I loved it. My recipe calls for a small bottle of coke. We would have to explain this to young ones.

Those small bottles were only 7 ounces. This recipe calls for 16 ounces (2 cups). That's a huge difference. I wonder how it affects the recipe?
