Cookie Mixing Day
FB told me that today is Cookie Mixing Day. So I searched Google to see if it is an 'actual' day. Couldn't find that, but found this article that it's better to just mix today and bake another day: https://www.kingarthurflour.com/blog...g-cookie-dough
Has anyone else experienced this? [I'm just always anxious to eat them LOL ]

Guess I was somewhat on-program today .... I made up eight jars of cookie mixes!
Sometimes I make the cookie balls and freeze them unbaked.
Then straight to the cookie sheet and oven when baking happens.
Makes for a pretty fast make on cookies when time is not at my favour!
Guess that fits with the King Arthur comments.
Though I have always seen both tactics as time and energy savers ...
and only one mess-up of the kitchen instead of several.

Oh yum! I want cookies!
I bake them right away and eat them right away. LOL! I thought about mixing the dough to save time on prep later. But I didn't quite make it for Thanksgiving.
It would be nice to just bake a few when you wanted cookies.

I also have gone to mixing one day and baking the next. Must be age. I also find myself vacuuming or dusting the same way. Sometimes the vacuum gets parked just where I stopped for the day and that is just the way it is. Great to be retired, most of the time anyway.

Not making any cookies today or tomorrow. Now that I live alone, I do not bake very often at all, but when my son lived at home if there was a bowl of cookie dough in the fridge it would disappear before morning.
I looked at the photos on the King Arthur site and I do not like the look of the really dark 10 day dough cookie. It looks over cooked to me.
Now though you have me thinking about what baking to do for Christmas. I really do not feel very motivated to bake much this year. I will ask my son to make Nanaimo Bars, as he is good at them. I may make a few Butter Tarts and Mince Tarts. Other than some Almond Rocha, that will probably be it.
I am the only one who likes shortbread and there is a great local bakery that makes wonderful butter shortbread, so I will just buy a few pieces from there.
