I tried it yesterday with orange cake mix and it was so pretty. Reminded me of a sponge cake. Also put some chocolate ice cream on it and that certainly made it even better. The chocolate added reminded me of the candy called orange sticks . Just the cake reminded me of dream cycles -- that was about 50 years ago but I still remember that delicious flavor.

I used a lemon cake with the angel food and I thought it was pretty good. I have been experimenting with being able to make a slightly larger cake for two. If I ever figure it out I will let everyone know.

thank you
1 box of angel food cake mix and 1 box of any other cake mix. Mix together very well and store in air tight container. To make use 3 tablespoons of combined cake mix, 2 tablespoons of water and cook in microwave for 1 minute. Hence, 3-2-1 cake.

I used a pineapple & angel food cake and it was delicious. I didn't use any topping. Just the cake, loved it and so did everyone I made it for.

I did it with chocolate cake mix with the angel food mix. It was light and fluffy, but I think that's the point. It's supposed to be a light little snack so you feel like you are having a treat without too much damage to the waistline.

By the way, instead of sticking it into the microwave, I cooked it on a waffle iron. It was nice and crispy.

I used angel food and lemon. Light tasting but the grandboys weren't impressed. We don't have all of the flavour selections here. But I'll continue to experiment nevertheless.
This is a great recipe for singles and for retiree couples. A little something sweet to go with coffee or an evening tea.

My 4 year old granddaugher has make "cake in a cup" 4 times in the last three days while visiting me from out of state. Whether mommy and daddy want it or not, she's for sure going to make it.

I also bought the pre-made icing that comes in a sort of bag (Oreo flavor) so that she can squeeze some frosting on top. I only used the angel food and a German chocolate mix.

I still need to try this - when I went to Wallmart last week the Angel Food cake was on my list, but they didn't have a single box - so many duplicate items on multiple shelves, but not as much variety any more.
