Default i had to BUY zucchini! can you believe that????

how ridiculous is that? ours just wont grow! plants and flowers are lovely, but veggies are small and are just 'stagnant' for some reason. so hard to garden in north idaho! GRRRR! so last nite hubby and i bought 4 zucchini, and steamed them till done, and then i did an old trick my mom used to do. fried them in a little butter and added a couple of eggs to it with some salt and pepper. it was divine! buying zucchini! Bleh! have a great day guys! )

Sure wish you lived next door to me! I would be leaving them on your doorstep!

Your way of fixing them sound good - I've never added eggs to zucchini.

It has something to do with having multiple plants and then getting them fertilized...
I have taken a q-tip and gone from one blossom to another to get my fruit. If the Zuchinni is not fertilized it will have a blossom and perhaps a small fruit then seems to "rot'...
I'm not nuts, I read this because of the last 2 summers being crappy in Tacoma, Wa...
If you can't get Zuchinni to grow...well, you know the rest.

We have to buy it too. Our yellow squash, green peppers and cucumbers are growing but no zuchinni. Too bad because I love it.

My problem with zucchini was the deer. The weather here is really dry so they are looking for food. 5 deer found my garden and about the only thing left if the hot peppers and eggplant for some reason. Didn't know that they would eat zucchini plants and the zucchini, but I guess they were hungry enough they did!

I did not know it was ever sold. Thought it just appeared on your door step.

Lack of bees for pollination might be the problem. We had that last year with our green beans. It wasn't until a neighboring farmer brought in some bee boxes down the road from us that we got any beans. Other years, I was giving away beans.

This year, it's drought...can't win! I'll probably be buying all of my veggies.

An old Italian dish with zuchinni and eggs is to saute the vegetable until golden in olive oil. Add beaten eggs and mozzerella cheese and cook till done. Mmmmmm - soooooooo good. That and a hunk of Italian bread and I'm in heaven.
