I bought one last year. One of my daughters loves it and the other does not use hers. She also thinks she needs to work on figuring things out on how too and which recipes. I brought mine back when I looked at recipes. It was too much dough and grease and all mixed together. This year I bought an airfryer and I love that thing. I do crips vegetables, shrimp, not battered, and home made hashbrowns in it. I do drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil on it. I bought the gourmia 6 quart air fryer stainless steel $60. My daughter did complain that rice did not cook as well in the instatpot and the beans gave her gas. She prefers those items from the rice cooker and beans from the crockpot.

I've had my 6 qt. Instant Pot since the end of September , and so far . I have used it for one thing, the water test . I don't have any more plans for it . But I belong to 3 Facebook Instant Pot groups and love reading the recipes . I just don't like to cook. Call me crazy .

Well, after the water test (LOL) I've been going a bit crazy with it. I've made oatmeal, rice (have to experiment with that, using the pre-set rice button made it too crispy for my taste, I like it softer), sesame chicken, chicken/rice/broccoli dish that was awesome, and last night - chili ! Obviously I'm enjoying my Instant Pot.
I saw someone on YouTube cook a whole chicken (a small one, but whole nonetheless) in the 3 quart pot, so I'm determined to try that too!

My Mom used a pressure cooker in the 1940's through 1950's. I quit cooking after my husband died. It isn't fun anymore. When I make chili or bar-b-que, I make it in a Dutch Over and allow it to simmer all day. Have thought of an Instant Pot and decided I don't need another cooking pot that I probably will not use. Don't need to hurry when cooking because I am retired and I have all day.

All I can say is that I got an instaPot for Christmas last year and didn't even take it out of the box. Sold it on Craig's list and the lady was thrilled to buy it. I have no use for something new and I have bad visions of my grandmother's pressure cooker exploding one time. But----I have friends that love their instaPot. You might be happier to return it if you are hesitant to use it.
