There is a site and it is called copycat-recipes.8m.com. I use it all the time for some of the best receipes. I like
chili's chicken tortilla and green chile soup and that is where I got mine from. |
We went to Olive Garden Sunday. I had the chicken and my DH had the beef one. I loved the chicken the beef was okay
|
I love the eggplant parmesan at Olive Garden. I've never had their alfredo but it sure looked good and a huge portion.

Well the Olive Garden chef will be so insulted with my version of his dish.Steamed veggies (frozen). A jar of alfreda sauce, broiled chicken breast, added half jar of sauce during last 25 min. Boiled some cheese filled tortalli(sp.) drained it added rest of heated sauce. Let sit on low heat for 15 min. Serve & enjoy. Gosh it was actually good.

Wow. I don't think I'll ever enjoy alfredo again. Cream, 6 egg yolks, a cup of cheese? Sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen.

Here's my favorite Creamy mushroom Alfredo or Stroganoff Sauce.
2 Tblsp. butter 8 oz. box of sliced fresh mushrooms,(3 cups) 1 Clove garlic, finely chopped 1 pkg. Cream Cheese, 8 0z. cut into small cubes 2/3 cup milk salt to taste 4 Tblsp. grated Parmesan cheese (only for Alfredo sauce) In large skillet over med.-high heat, melt butter, add mushrooms and garlic. Cook 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender, reduce heat to medium. Add cream Cheese, milk and salt, stirring until cheese melts and sauce is smooth and creamy. Toss with hot pasta, and the parmesan cheese. For Stroganoff sauce just omit the parmesan cheese and add cooked ground beef or cut up roast over noodles. Yummy!! I've also done this with canned mushrooms, lite cream cheese and evaporated milk, still turns out good. |
anglewatch, thank you, I know I can do this one. Just did mushroom soup, never though to use cream cheese. I added 1/4 cup diced onion & diced freah mushroom. Wanted a little thicker so I used a little cornstarch in water as I would for gravey. It worked.

So, here I am, just lazily reading posts for 5 minutes before going to bed.
But OH NO!!! I had to read this thread and click on the copycat link and the Olive Garden link. It's now about 2 hours past, I'm hungry, my shopping list is long and far too expensive for me to even consider affording................ but I sure did have fun!! Thanks for the info! |
