Another Just for Fun

If you read the recipes section here routinely, you might have some of my posts about using the crockpot a lot more. So this afternoon, I looked up crockpot cookie, followed the recipe, but I put it on high for an hour, and two more hours at low. I just took it out of the crockpot and letting it cool. I took a pic. I read the few reviews and they had issues with it burning. But it looks ok to me. I do have the six quart oval slow cooker but don't know if that made a difference. Anyway, here is a pic. We haven't tried it yet though. http://www.food.com/recipe/slow-cook...cookies-319371

Is it chocolate chip? I'd love to know if you liked it or not!

Yes it is basically a chocolate chip and nuts cookie or maybe cookie bar is a better term. I did use the mini chocolate chips since that was all I had.

Will post when the taste results come in. I just think it's a hoot to make cookie dough in a crockpot.

Crockpot vs oven - that was three hours of electricity vs less than one hour of natural gas....costwise, which is more cost effective....just wondering. I know here electric rates are much than gas.......

Good point. I like using the crockpot.

I wonder but in this heat I will use the crock pot. They really don't use a lot of power. I have a solar system and can watch the usage. My solar is paid for the gas has to be paid for so it is an easy choice for me. I think that is a consideration.

OK taste update for those of you who might be curious....Not bad at all. Makes a bunch though when I cut it into bars. Kind of like one of those giant chocolate chip cookies you get from the bakery. Here's a pic. It is not mushy inside, just like a cookie bar. I did add nuts too. I am giggling here. Even my husband liked it, and he is kind of funny about not liking chocolate chips.

Hey! I should be a crockpot blogger (just kidding of course).

I am thinking this might work if you wanted to use the oven for something else. I am kind of disconnected with my oven right now...

Anyway, it was for fun. Will I do again? Maybe, we like to have something sweet around here. If I don't make it, he will just go buy cookies anyway.

You're wrapping and sending each of us a piece, right :-) Looks delish.
