All I can say is the Instant Pot has expanded my repertoire since I was tired of cooking. Mr. stitchnripper is thrilled with the variety of meals coming out of them. And, you can cook more than one thing in a pot at a time - using smaller bowls for each item. Most of the time they all cook in about the same amount of time. And most of my cooking in the Instant Pot is "from scratch" because i Have to get all the ingredients together and prep them, etc. Use mostly fresh foods.

Son called me the other night to say he put in a box of spaghetti, 3 cups water, a bag of fresh spinach, some spices, some butter, and a bag of frozen shrimp on top, cooked for 7 minutes, quick release and said it was all delicious. His question was about how long the 3 cups takes to come to pressure but while we were talking, it did.

But I guess it is like the old "starch/don't starch" or "prewash/don't prewash" discussions. Something for everyone. But the pots have been a real boon in our family.

If you set time to “O”, the pot comes to pressure and shuts off. Good for things that cook fast like asparagus. Learned this on U tube.
