Be sure to look at all of her recipes. This is my # 1 favorite cooking blog online. And now she has her own cooking show on Food Network starting August 27, 2011 11:30 am. She has published cookbooks. Craftybear |

You can take that a step further, after the potatoes are browned pour six beaten eggs over the top, cook until eggs are starting to set then put shredded cheddar cheese on top bake in 350 oven about 5 mins.. Cut like a pie,,,, delish. I serve it all the time when I have co for breakfast.

WOW! I've been cooking potatoes like this since I was in diapers. Had I only known, I too could have my own cooking show!

The problem I have with the "Pioneer Woman" is ... the vast majority of "her" recipes are taken straight from old church & ladies club cookbooks, and she rarely credits the actual sources. Our moms, aunts and grandmas were all making these dishes 50+ yrs ago. Just FYI she is NOT your average, hard-working rancher's wife, as she has portrayed herself ... she's married to a millionaire OK rancher, one of the richest ranching families in OK and the US. I don't think she's ever had to shovel **** or run cattle or nurse sick calves. They have lots of hired hands to do all that. Her blog revenues ALONE are well over a Million $. Amazing how she's parlayed a lot of borrowed recipes with a bunch of photos into a blog, cookbook and book tours, TV promotions and now a TV show !!??  |
Thanks, again, CraftyBear!

Every PW recipe we've eaten is a winner, so hats off to all the unknown cooks who've preceded her.

from a fellow texas gurl sounds like you are the real deal like me! you had me at nursing sick calves! i don't know this lady nor have i seen her show but i sure hope she is legit cause us texans don't like fakers! just cause you put your boots in the oven don't make 'em biscuits as they say!
