Blueberries

I would like your time tested recipes involving blueberries. Not muffins, or pancakes, but something different. I'd like something you've made many times and the whole family loves. Thanks.

Well, gosh darn. You stumped me!

Hope you get some great ideas though. I'll be watching, too.

Here is a link to a recipe that I have used since the 1970's. The cookbook is well used but many of the recipes are now online exactly as they are in the book. I actually stood by while my 14 year old granddaughter made it about a month ago.(She did it all herself!) Blueberry Cobbler. Simple to make, minimal ingredients and fast. I have made it with frozen berries when guests arrive too and I need a quick dessert. Great with a cup of tea.

Blueberry buckle! My mom lost her original recipe but there are plenty online.

I would say Blueberry Buckle also, started making that about 30 years ago, still a favorite.

My go to Cobbler recipe using any fruit (apple, peach, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, even pears) is 1:1:1:1

EASY COBBLER
1 stick butter in 9x9 square dish
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups fruit (sometimes I use 2 1/2 cups)

Preheat oven to 350. Put butter in 9 x 9 baking dish and melt. Mix flour and sugar together and then stir in milk.Pour over butter. Pour fruit over batter. Sprinkle a little sugar on top of fruit (1/8 - 1/4 cup).
With peaches, apples and pears, I sometimes sprinkle a little cinnamon on top of fruit also.

ENJOY!

This is a well loved family recipe. You can make your own pie filling if you have fresh berries.
Blueberry Salad

1 lg box black cherry jello
1 can blueberry pie filling
1 can crushed pineapple, 15 oz.
16 oz container sour cream
2 8oz pkgs cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Drain pineapple reserving juice. Add enough water to make 2 cups. Bring to boil and dissolve jello. Add one cup cold water, pie filling, and drained pineapple.
Pour into 9 x13 dish and refrigerate until firm.

Make topping.
Cream together cream cheese and sugar, add sour cream, stir to combine.
Spread on top of berry pineapple mixture
Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Enjoy

one of our German neighbors made a recipe which is the best thing I ever ate with bluberries. She made a sweet roll recipe and put it into a smaller cake pan. beat up some whipping cream and then some egg whites and sweetened it. Put bluebarries on top of the dough and then the whipped mixture. Bake. You will probably have to experiment with amounts time and temperature but probably same as a cobbler or buckle.
