This is not really a recipe but just a tip. I use buttermilk alot when cooking. One day I decided to try it in mashed potatoes instead of milk.....it was so good!!! Haven't used milk since.

I buy the cartons, didn't know there was a powder. :-o

I've used buttermilk when making scalloped potatoes and that was good, too.

I love to substitute buttermilk too!!! What a great taste :D:D:D

I dont think you get as good taste with the powder....I only use fresh.

I use Bob's Red Mill powdered buttermilk for everything. I can't get to the store and the church does my grocery shoping about every 2 months so I had to find a replacement for fresh milk. I even drink it as it has even less calories then non fat milk.

Bob's Red Mill products are natural (no funny stuff in their food) and some of the products are organic.
