I have taken bananas back that fit that description. The mgr. didn't mind, and he gave me money back.
Good luck!

I bought some of these bananas awhile back, and the manager said that they did not ripen because they had been
infused with too much "Oxygen" which is used to ripen bananas when they are ready to be shipped to the store. He
said that when that happens, they will NEVER ripen. Return them to the store.

Good Luck,
Marion

I have put bananas in the freezer & used them later for bread.

Well, this is interesting. So much for plantains.

Like Mariah, i would have taken them back.
i got great looking watermelon last year, i took one bite and almost vomited,
It was horrible. I took it back, and to my surprise, they had a whole wagon
of returned watermelon that was rotten. Ya never know.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... this reminds me of a year ago when I was violently ill for three days and the morning of the fourth day there was an E-mail from the grocery store (Ralphs) telling me to return the cucumber I purchased 6 days ago....Oh, .thanks....no one buys a cucumber and then waits a week to use it....and no did not go to the doctor, could not have walked to the car, much less driven. Whatever happened to checking food before selling it...evidently just washing it when we bring it into our kitchen is not enough. Rant over...sorry

My hubby picks out green or partial green bananas as most ripen too fast--but there have been exceptions and you are right--they taste horrible. When we went on Carribean cruise we stopped at one island and had a buffet--they made potato salad out of either bananas or plantains--it was really good. We are thinking plantains.
