Cherry Delight

Received this recipe over 40 years ago and it still is the first dessert to disappear instantly at potlucks.

Beat thoroughly: 2 soft 8oz cream cheese

Add and mix thoroughly: 2 cups of powdered sugar and 2 teaspoons of vanilla.

Blend with about 15 ounces of cool whip.

Put this mixture into Two graham cracker crumb pie shells and top with 1 can of cherry pie filling on each pie.

Refrigerate for an hour or so.

Sounds yummy. Bet you could make this with other flavors of pie filling. (My favorite being peach). Will need to try this for my next guild meeting.

Yep, that's the recipe my mom had, Cherry Delight and now I do. She made it back in the 50's. She had the Dream Pie, also.

I remember Dream Whip! My grandmother and mother refused to buy it, they whipped real cream. My MIL bought it and I though it was great the many quick desserts she could make with it because it was always there in a package, but I remember thinking it sure didn't taste like whipped cream.
