CREAM CHEESE SNOWCAPS yield 36

1 c. all purpose flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
one 3-oz. pkg. cream cheese room temp.
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 t. almond extract (some ppl like lemon instead)
1 c. powdered sugar

Combine flour and baking powder.
Beat cream cheese, margarine and granulated sugar till soft.
Add extract to your softened ingredients, mix in.
Add creamed ingredients to your flour/b. powder and blend till mixed well.
Cover and chill 1-2 hours. Shape into 1" balls.
On an ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 350* for 12-15 minutes. Cool slightly on a wire rack.
Put your 1 cup of powdered sugar in a ziploc bag, toss in a cookie and shake till coated. cool. shake again. Makes 36.

Note: I don't chill my batter, I just drop by teaspoon onto c. sheet and my oven takes ten minutes. Maybe mine are smaller than 1"?

I've never tried this recipe with lemon extract instead of the almond, but it sounds good.
This is a delicious cookie, and I am going to add some pecans to some this time, to see how we like that, too.
Enjoy! (they are one of two cookie traditions at my house.):D

YW! We love these, and it's nice to have them for the grandkids instead of a lot of chocolate.
