I put a tri tip roast in mine this morning. When it's done, I'll shred it up into a prepared au jus mix for french dip. My family really likes it.

Does anyone mind sharing their favorite crock pot recipes? I know there are all kinds on Pinterest, but I'd like to start with ones I know people like. Does that make sense? Put your seared chops in the crockpot, add liquid. Cook on low (I cooked a little longer than I should have. Probably four hours on low is fine. That's for two chops. The results were very tender chops. (You can use the seasoning from searing the chops to make a gravy. Very flavorful.) |
I have some beef stew in the crockpot now, but, a chicken recipe we like is boneless skinless breasts pour over one jar orange or apricot preserves and one envelope onion soup. cook on low until done, which depending on crock pot 4-6 hours at least in mine. High less time of course.
Another one is boneless skinless chicken breasts, one small jar salsa and one envelope onion soup. |
I own 6 crockpots of different sizes. 4 in the house, 2 in the RV and I use them all. There's zillions of crockpot recipes but for safety sake, I only use DEFROSTED meat in them. I read someplace that frozen meat forces the crockpot temp down below a safe point.
