I use this crockpot recipe for mac & cheese: approximately 2 cups dry macaroni, 1 - 12 oz evaporated milk, 1 1/2 cup milk, 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup butter, melted, 1 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 cup shredded cheese (marble jack, Colby or velvetta). Cook macaroni just until crunch is gone, drain. Grease inside of crockpot with Pam spray. Combine all ingredients, put in crockpot, cook on Low for 3 hours. I stir this 2 -3 times over the 3 hours. I have let it go for up to 4 hours. You could use the dry macaroni...........cook about 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

Cook covered on HIGH 3 hours or until macaroni in tender. Stir well before serving. Makes about 6 servings. |

Maybe try soaking the noodles first in hot tap water for 20 minutes, drain and then add all the ingredients to the crock pot. I do this with lasagna noodles, it turns out very moist and soft, and do not see why it would not work for macaroni.

I have the greatest recipe for mac & cheese in the crock but, you do have to cook the noodles first. I doubt that you'll ever get the results you want with uncooked.

Never fails! Mac & cheese in the crockpot ( 8+ servings ) Turn crock on high - spray with Pam - put 1/2 stick butter in crock - when it's melted, add 2 cups dry macaroni, then 1 quart 2% milk - stir - add 10 oz. grated cheddar cheese & stir again - cook for 1 hour - stir again ( I add black pepper at that time ) turn to low & cook for another hour, then check for doneness ( I stir in a little bit of mustard before serving for some tang )

These recipes all sound great. I used the recipe from allrecipes but I used a box of curly things to make it pretty and the box was 12 oz. instead of 8 oz. I added a little more milk so we'll have to wait and see how it turns out. I'll appreciate all your help. I'll try to test all these recipes with my family and try to get back to you with my results. Never put cooked macaroni in the pot. I put an extra easy recipe on here about a month ago, but don't have the time to repeat it today.

I think my problem is, I leave it in too long. Looks really good when I put it in but then I have to do something else, church, inlaws, something. So til it sits at the next place until we eat, because no on can be on time in our family, it's dried out. Guess it's just not meant to be. I can't use a timed, digital crock pot because out electricity blinks all the time. At least once a day, for not reason, it blinks so I need the old fashioned kind that is on or off. Used to have a delay on my oven but not this one. Used to come home from inlaws early I could put the mac & ch in the oven to take to my family. They always ask me to make mac & ch and I'm not sure why because every year I have an excuse why it's not good. Some one else can make it next time I guess.
