Do you like stuffed green peppers? I don't actually stuff the peppers as my husband and I will not eat them, so why waste them. So I chop mine up in smaller pieces unless my oldest son is home. As he likes the peppers whole. I dice up three peppers, small onion, 3 pounds of hamburger and salt and pepper to taste. Fry until hamburger is done, drain.. add 2.5 cups of rice and mix well. Pour into crock pot and add one large can of tomato juice. Cover and cook on low. Takes about 5 hours to cook completely. BUT... this can be slow cooked all day. I have make mine before work and put it in and start it and get home 8.5 hours later and ready to eat.

Hi Craftybear, the above message is meant for you but I forgot to include your name.
|
Craftybear, we've missed you! It sure was nice to see your post this morning. :-) I'm leaning toward trying the first pot roast recipe in the future. I bet it would be good with pork loin roast, as well. Thanks---

Glad to see you back Craftybear! I am intetested in recipes since I recently purchased a new crockpot.

Hey! Welcome back Craftybear!

Thanks Craftybear. I love slow cooker recipes. Gives me more time to sew, instead of cooking.
Welcome back. |
Italian Roast Beef
1 roast 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix 1 packet Au Jus 1 cup or can of beef broth Put in crock pot on low for a few hours. Eat! |
I love "Dump Soup" in the crockpot. Use a 6 qt. or modify amts. to fit.
6 cups chicken stock (or 2 reduced sodium chicken stock cubes and six cups water) 2 onions diced 2-4 stalks celery diced 1-2 carrots peeled and diced garlic--as many cloves as you like, finely chopped a couple of potatoes peeled and diced (optional if you like potatoes in your soup) a couple of bay leaves 3-19 oz cans of beans--kidney, black, chick pea, navy, whatever you have or like--rinsed and drained 1 large can diced tomatoes 1 can Rotel tomatoes (optional) 1 jar or can of tomato based pasta sauce--NOT alfreddo!! *possible other additions: corn, green beans, 1/2 lb. browned ground beef, a handfull of pot barley, pasta (add about 30 minutes before end of cooking time), a jar of salsa, taco seasoning...HEY it's called "Dump Soup" for a reason!! Throw it all into the crockpot, set it on low and forget about it. Before serving, taste and add, if needed, salt, pepper and any other seasoning you like (I use mixed herbs, cumin and chipotele seasoning but we like ours spicy. Suit yourself) Serve with a dollop of sour cream and/or shredded cheddar and crusty garlic bread. This freezes really well and is a great way to clear leftovers out of the fridge. |
I promised myself that I would try to fix as many meals in the crockpot this winter as I can. That way my hubby will not starve while I'm poring over this board for hours!

I put a chuck arm roast in the crockpot and sprinkle a package of Lipton onion mushroom dry soup mix on it. Then add water or low salt beef broth to it. I usually need 1/2 to 1 cup of liquid depending on size of roast. I usually make about a 3lb one. Then cook on low for 6-8hrs. It will easily break apart with a fork and can be served on buns or noodles. Very easy and tasty!

Roast Beef
2-3# chuck roast 1 can mushroom soup 1 packet Lipton's dry onion soup mix Place roast in crockpot. Mix the 2 soups together. Pour mixture over roast. Cook on low 6-8hours. This is an old recipe that has been around for years. |
When I read this simple recipe, I thought it sounded horrible, and I thought there was no way my finicky family would eat it. NOT TRUE! This is SUPER SIMPLE and SUPER DELICIOUS! You'd NEVER believe it contained Italian Salad Dressing. My family actually REQUESTS that I make it!
Crockpot Chicken Put 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts in crockpot and cover with Italian Salad Dressing. Cook on low 5-6 hrs, or on high 4-5 hrs. |
Crockpot Corned Beef
place 1 corned beef brisket in crockpot put 1 c brown sugar on top of the brisket (you can also put the spices from the brisket on the sugar) gently pour 1 can (or bottle) of Guinness Stout over the brisket (trying to keep as much of the sugar as possible on the meat) Cook on low all day, or on high all afternoon. YUM YUM YUMMY!! |

Pulled Pork: Put a Pork Shoulder Roast in a crockpot and cover with rootbeer. Cook on high for 4-6 hours. Check meat in about 5 hrs to see if it can be easily "pulled" apart using two forks. If not , keep cooking. When cooked completely drain all liquids from crockpot. Shred the pork with the two forks then add the BBQ sauce of your choice and let the meat cook for a short time more. Very easy and really tasty. Good for a crowd.

And this one is so good you'll want to make it all the time. I DO DOUBLE all the spices as I like a nice spicy kick to any chili. But give it a chance. This gal as several crockpot recipes.

Cola roast: (I use Renolds Slow Cooker Liners) Line or spray crocker pot. Place roast inside and pour either diet cola or regular cola on top and cook on low for 8 hours.
Salsa roast: Spray or line crockpot, place roast inside, dump salsa on top. (This recipe works great with chicken and pineapple salsa.) Cook for 8 hours on low. |
Anyone have any good crock pot recipes with chicken breasts that's not too high in salt.
