Do you know the recipe?

My mom used to make these crispy desserts (?) for Christmas. I can't find her recipe and don't know what to call them. Anyway she had a thin batter and would dip the tool into the batter then into a pot of hot grease. Then we coated them w/ powdered sugar. I love these things and would love to make them but I don't have a recipe. Also, does anyone know what these crispy desserts are called? April

The machine makes Rosettes
My recipe -- 1 1/3 Cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons sugar, 1 egg, unbeaten

Mix into a smooth batter. Makes about 5 doz. shells. Heat 24 oz. oil to 365 degrees. Heat mold at least 15 seconds. Dip in batter. Hold mold level so batter does not go over top. Cook in oil until delicated brown. Drain on paper. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Yep -- only we called them pizelles. Yummy.

On my box of molds they are called Griswold Waffle and Patty Iron Molds. The recipe I have is just about the same as the one listed above. My uncle had them every morning with his breakfast. My aunt would sprinkle the 10x sugar on them right before she served them. They are so good.
