Dry jello measurement

How much dry jello is in a small box? I bought dry jello in bulk at an Amish grocery store and I don’t own a box of jello right now or I would measure it myself. And when I looked online, it said 3 Tablespoons !!! I really doubt that. Thanks for your help and when I find out, I’m making a note for myself so I won’t be asking again !

http://www.firehousepantrystore.com/lbgelrasp5fs.html According to the direction on this web site 1/3 cup of dry jello equals 4 prepared servings.

The 3 tablespoon measurement must be for the sugar free jello. One tablespoon of unflavored gelatin(like the Knox brand) will gell 2 cups of liquid.

Small boxes are 6 oz and big boxes are 12 oz. 6 oz is 3/4 cup and 12 oz is 1 1/2 cups. Have fun and share your recipe. These amounts are for the regular sugar kind. The diet stuff I have no idea.

According to the oz's your calculations would be correct, but I don't think there is 1 1/2 cups of jello in the bigger boxes, am going to have to go measure them, Know there isn't likely to be 3/4 cup in the smaller box either. If there is, I think my boxes have been falling short. That having been said, your Amish label should give you directions as to how much to use for a batch of jello. At least our local Amish or Mennonite store does on their labels, but can't tell you off the top of my head how much it is and don't think I have any in the cabinet at the present either.

My two cents for the day!

the small pkg is 3 oz which equals 1/3 cup.

I don't know where you buy your Jell-O. My boxes say 3 oz. and 6 oz. At the bulk food store, 3 oz. is 1/3 cup and 6 oz. is 2/3 cup. I use this stuff all the time.

The 3 oz. box of Jell-O (that's 1/3 cup) uses 1 cup of boiling water and 1 cup of cold water.
The 6 ox. box of Jell-O (that's 2/3 cup) uses 2 cups of boiling water and 2 cups of cold water.
Other things can be substituted for some of the water: fruit juice, kefir, etc.

I think the packages of jello are by weight not volume. You might do better to weigh your bulk powder...

You are right, I forgot the dry measure and wel measure is different and the little boxes are only 3 oz.

The package didn’t tell me how much equals a box, I asked the clerk but she didn’t know the answer.

I buy a lot from local bulk foods. Most have instructions on the label, but sometimes the printing is oh, so small I can't read it. Can be quite a challenge
