Here's a recipe for English Muffins loaves, makes 2 loaves.
2 pkgs. active dry yeast 6 c. unsifted flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 T. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. water 2 c. milk cornmeal Combine 3 c. flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Heat liquids until very warm (120-130 deg. F) Add to dry mixture, beat well. Stir in rest of flour to make a stiff batter. Spoon into two 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle tops with cornmeal. Cover; let rise in warm place for 45 min. Bake at 400 F for 25 min. Remove from pans immediately and cool. When you want some, slice like regular bread and pop into toaster. Yummy!! |
That sure sounds like the one I use to do. Thanks Spooky.
