French Bread Casserole

I made the French Bread Casserole Recipe that I got from this website and I had a few questions about it. It was yummy but I thought it was not cooked enough in the center. Mine didn't brown up either. I cooked it in a 350 oven and I kept it covered with foil. I hadn't written down whether to cook it covered or not. I took the cover off after 45 minutes and cooked it about 10 min more. It was really good tho and we enjoyed eating it. I was just thinking about any tips for future cooking.

I'm not familiar with the recipe, was it a breakfast casserole or dinner casserole? I have a breakfast one that you cover for a while then remove the foil the last 15 minutes or so, plus you let it rest a bit before you cut into it.

Is this the recipe? There's no mention of covering while baking.

Thanks for the help. I know it wasn't "Make ahead breakfast casserole but it was similar. I doubt if I will make it again.
