I saw a trick on Facebook. Like a lot of you I cool them down and then put a small amount of water in a cup with the non shelled egg. Put your hand over the top as tight as you can and then give it a good shake . The peel will crack all over and be easy to peel.

ok i got it ...we all take the kitchen things to the sewing room .....it's time to take the sewing things to the kitchen ....poke the eggs with a pin or needle ....that will let some water in and will peel easier

Haven't tried it yet but just read to put 1/2 tsp baking soda in the water and eggs should peel easily |
I agree with those who boils their eggs and moves it aside to 'sit' awhile before peeling. My DGM always put salt or/and soda in with her eggs...she boiled for 15 minutes after they begin to boil and aways had that dark ring around the yoke of the egg. I do use the salt or soda in with the eggs, let them boil for eight to ten minutes and peel them. Does not matter how 'old' the egg is...store bought (how long in shipping them to the store??) or country eggs direct if you let them sit in the hot water after bringing them to a boil. Ice bath helps, and rolling them across the counter or 'cracking' the egg on the top of the sink will make them easy to peel.

There is a you tube video. The guy puts cold water in a glass cup puts in the egg and shakes it for a few seconds then dumps out the water and the shell is off. It looks very interesting

I boil for 15 min, then run cold water in the pan until it stays cold then add ice to the pan until it melts. It's the quick cool down that makes them easier to peel. Also, store bought eggs are easier to peel than farm fresh eggs. I've heard cooking them in the oven works well too, but have never tried it. I'm peeling mine in the morning! Wish me luck!
