Goodies for Quilting friends
My fellow quilter is kind enough to open her house for get together. We are all going to take an appetizer. I initially thought to take cookies but it seems that's what everyone else is taking. Any suggestions for a quickie, tasty appetizer?

What about a cheese ball and crackers? Or vegetables and dip? There are some cute display ideas for both on Pinterest.
|
Vegetable dip tray. I know at our get togethers there are way too many sweets. Now sweets are my weakness, but it's oh so nice to have a plain carrot stick or celery to cut the sweetness.
|
Deviled eggs is my favorite finger food to take to get togethers.

This is a great cheese ball recipe & very easy to make.

I’ve made a similar recipe of this cheese ball for 40 years. It’s a family favorite!!
|
Here are a couple of my 'go-to' quick appetizers..
ShoePeg Corn Dip (I don't always put in the jalapenos) - https://thesouthernladycooks.com/201...epeg-corn-dip/ I buy the big Fritos for this dip. Artichoke Dip - https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/14...artichoke-dip/ You can use Pita Chips, Baguette Bread or just about any type of cracker/chip that you prefer for this dip. There are many ways to make Tortilla Pinwheels that are always a hit too. Good luck! Christine |
For our Quilting group Christmas Party, I'm taking sausage and cheese balls, also plan to take a darling Christmas tree cheese (ball) I found on BettyCrocker.com site there are 55 Best Holiday appetizers with the free recipes on her site. You might want check her site out.

A friend needed an easy app for a church gettogether recently. I did stuffed celery for her. One batch with cream cheese/bacon bit stuffing; one batch with cream cheese/chopped walnut stuffing. Apparently every piece was gone before she even got any, lol! Quick and easy.
|
I second the stuffed celery. It's a favorite of mine!
|
For a quick item, I buy the package of phyllo cups and fill them with a chicken salad, tuna salad or even a thick pudding (my friend's favorite is a banana pudding with a crushed vanilla wafer on top). They are the perfect bite size treat and couldn't be faster and easier!

Stuffed celery for us meant stuffed with cheez whiz! The irony ... liked it then, but now ... hate the stuff! Now, just give me cheddar cheese. The older the better! :) (and yes, I hated old cheese as a kid) |
I have made this cheese ball several times. I have even cut the recipe in half when I want something for a smaller gathering. It has always impressed and there has rarely been any leftovers. Plus it's just darn cute!!

I have a similar type party on Saturday, so I'm enjoying all the answers too. Think I will bring quiche and stuffed celery to mine.

use one block of cream cheese Put it on a pretty plate with a cheese spreader pour salsa over the cream cheese Put some crackers on a plate Done. Disappears quickly! BONUS: You can assemble it all at the location of the party, so no spills or mishaps on the way to the gathering. |

Looks like easy, yet quite tasty! I'm always keen to find new easy ones ... yet look impressive. This probably fits the bill! |
Brie melted in the center of a round loaf of sourdough. The bread you scoop out, cut into large pieces to toast in oven to dip into the gooey cheese. Wrap the loaf with the Brie inside in foil. Heat at 375 until bubbly. Toast the pieces around it on a baking sheet. Easy and tasty.
